I didn’t say that he would, only that he could, in theory.Talk about selling Akpom "freeing up" 4 times the amount we sell him for is missing the point. Gibson is not going to sanction spending £40m if we're not promoted by selling Akpom for £10m. FFP is not a magic money multiplier
I suspect that he will do everything he can to ensure Carrick has the tools he needs next season if we don’t go up and that might mean a bit more of a gamble than this year or last. That might mean selling players to create immediate ffp headroom as I described. The only way the club is sustainable is with prem money, it’s a question of how much of his money does he gamble on it
