Dan Barlaser squits after the Norwich Game?

needs a 4 or 5 game run to get in the groove... at the moment he is coming on for 20mins or less and eager to impress whicjh is not ideal and can get into a Payero situation where he is rushing around like a headless chicken.... He is by the way much better that payero showed in his time here . payeros last game for the U23s was a shocker ... no effort or respect shown

Newy man, why would we play a whole new starting 11 at our current biggest threat/rival for promotion? It's not football manager.

Butterfield, completely different player to Tomlin and Gaston, weird comparison.

That said, I'm also curious as to how Barlaser is dealing with the lack of being the main man/behind a loan player in the pecking order.

I would think someone will call me out if I'm wrong but i imagine that barlaser' impressive assist record is more from set ball delivery, given the way Rotherham play, rather than from open play.

Barlaser is in Michael carricks coaching and behavioural rehabilitation school, like Jonesy. He will spin out the blocks, turned into a complete footballer.
The press love to conjure a story where there isnt one: usually crap about managers "not rating him" or having "fallen out with...". Its bollax. Its lets heap emotion into a professional decision by the boss.
Lets face it: most reporters have problems starting their laptops, let alone manage men.
We have to remember this style of football is alien to Barlaser. He played very back to front at rotherham. He’s learning

He might have needed a slash? He seems very happy to be here and involved with us, rather than a dogfight down the bottom. I think he understands his role in the team and like someone said, Mowatt came on and had his best game for us and that will have knocked him a little bit but he'll get game time before the end of the season, but if we go up i can see him going back to Rotherham.

He got 3 assists against Reading, 1 was from a set play, but all 3 were through balls from his own half.

His assist against Birmingham was him crossing in from a short corner.

His assist against Huddersfield was a pass on the edge of the box.

His assist against Coventry was a through ball on the counter.

His assist against Blackburn was a pass on the edge of the box.

His assist for us against QPR was a cross from outside the box.

So that's only 2 of 8 where he was taking a set play, if you count the cross after the short corner.

Fair enough, was just a theory, I knew someone with more attention to detail would point me out if I was wrong.

I had no idea either, to be fair, I just watched the highlights of all the games he has an assist in to check just then.

The only one I already knew wasn't from a set piece was the one for us.

His range of passing seems very good if he ever gets a prolonged chance for us.

No.. it was just noted. Doesn’t take much effort to clap for a few minutes after the game.
If he had the shyts then fair enough..
Forss did the same against Burnley to be fair, but it went unnoticed. I don't see an issue with it personally especially if we're going well in the league and it's at home.

I like what i've seen from Barlaser so far. He's had one or two spells where he's clearly tried to hard. He's going to be a big asset for us if we stay at this level.

Mowett could be like 'a new signing' during the run in an playoffs.

He's vastly experienced. Also easy to forget just how good he's been during his champo carrer. He's still got a left foot worldie in him. Hopefully 90th of a. Playoff final 👌
Maybe it’s time to reintroduce folks to the real Alex Mowett..

I think Jones is that man personally. I don't see Mowatt starting much instead of Hackney or Howson whereas Jones is a game changer and is well placed to take over from Forss if Forss is showing any signs of running out of steam. We've got a great little collection of attacking midfielders...Forss, Ramset, McGree, Jones...good to have options.

Jones should definetly be on the bench.

Think Mowatt was excellent the other night though and confirmed what he always was so far for me, ahead of Barlaser in the pecking order and a valuable back up option. Wouldn’t be against him starting on Wednesday night.
