Oh, I dont know I'd say he's got a good range of passing, not just the short stuff - in relation to Carrick we play a slightly slower possession based system rather than what he was used to at Man U. But get your point.Not sure about the quaterback analogy, as he tends more to operate as the hub of the wheel, playing shorter stuff so we retain possession until a gap opens up. He's particularly good at playing those incisive 15 to 20m passes that cut through the midfield and set up an attack (ie the ones that sent Silvera away v Preston). Carrick was a bit more quaterback like, in as much as he routinely played accurate long balls over the top.
Hubby wheel quarterback deep lying midfielder. But not a destroyer. Definitely not that one.......
