dijksteel v mcnair

I can't see the love for dijksteel hes had some very poor games last season I remember he had a torrid time at old Trafford where he's body shape was all wrong and he didn't get goal side time after time when marking another day and we could have been slaughtered. I get the triangles with Jones and crooks are fantastic but as an out and out defender he is poor. He can get away with mistakes against the poorer teams in the championship with his pace but to me he won't ever be a top championship defender
My advice would be going to matches and not watching one fa cup game on the tele

I saw every game online McNair is the better defender
Better going forward and that will definetly show if he’s played right centre back as mentioned above but one on one defending and recovery running etc is the reason Dijksteel needs to play. Good dribbler too. I think they will both plenty of games but not sure which way wilder will lean towards. McNairs 1 game suspension could be more important than it looks

I like them both. Don't forget, assuming we sign a left footed centre back McNair will probably be cover/competition for LCB too. So it's 3 players for 2 positions. Lenihen and Fry fighting it out for central spot.

That's sounds about right.

We also have a bigger completion slot than this between Lenihan and Fry....
I'd keep them all and have them competing - the prem teams that come down have 2 players for every position - it's what you need if you want to go up

I know these are big ifs but I dont see Smith being here on trial. I am sure we will sign him when Spence goes. Nyambe seems to be either a genuine right back or right sided centre back. If we have covere RWB with Smith and Jones then I think one of mcnair / Dijksteel will be off. The money brought in will go towards ? Greaves +1 LCB. I just cant see us carrying Jones, Smith, Nyambe, Dijksteel and Mcnair without anyone for LCB. Maybe the Nyambe link is spurious?

I don't see us getting much for Djiksteel as it stands and agree he is a good player with plenty of growing room to be excellent. All things considered it does seem a bit bizarre to be considering buying players who will expect to be starters in his position. I just wish we had a similar dilemma with the quality of our strikers, are we focusing on the wrong area of the pitch!

I wouldn't like to lose either and I don't think it's for one or the other. Look what happened at the end of last season. The backline was patched up playing game after game. Them and the middle of the park basically ran out of steam. I think if Nyambe is ok going forward, its a clear upgrade on Peltier; who we all know was very limited. After that cover was very limited, so he clearly wanting a stronger bench/squad to make that push.
