Early Bird Season Tickets on sale

I posted at the weekend about managing to get tickets in GRFZ for the Reading game for me and my two boys, which will be their first match as we've just moved up from Berkshire. I had been thinking, if they enjoy it, about trying for season tickets for next season but, if there's nothing available in the family zone then it looks like the cheapest tickets for the three of us would cost £966 (against £625 in GRFZ), which is unfortunately beyond my means.

Email the club and see what response you get other than a 'money back guarantee' should you purchase elsewhere and seats suddenly then become available.

There's either a waiting list or there isnt, that just seems unfair saying you have to 'gamble' and stump up money you cant afford just to have a chance of relocating your seat and a refund for the difference.

Ive never heard anything like it in my life, if you were able to buy a match ticket, then why are no season cards available?

On the same subject GRFZ what happens if mam and dad want to take their son or daughter to a game? As i understand it only 1 adult is permitted in this area of the stadium per U18

Yet the pricing plan this time round has the option of 'additional adult'

The cynical me thinks they won't release any more until after the early bird deadline.

Exactly the whole argument kids prices are reasonable is completely disingenuous when it's effectively a closed shop thorough a grfz sell out and not obtainable. I don't see why they don't just charge the same prices for kids in most parts of the ground.

I wish we had chance to see the fixture list prior to getting them at their 'cheapest'. For somebody who works away and can walk up to any home game it seems pointless for me to buy one, even though I would like a seat with my mates guaranteed and a better chance of other tickets. Although the rise isnt much its still £130 more expensive that the cheapest season ticket for Man City!

The trouble is I sit in the West Stand if we make the Premier league that's about 33.70 a game to watch us get battered. Additional I can't make every game with work commitments some weekends. We just get the season ticket for the convenience tickets guaranteed next to us mates. It would be good if the club started a reselling Scheme where if you can't attend a game your seat can be sold to someone else and your paid back. Otherwise it's not really worthwhile
would only work if we actually sold out. The fact there is walk up tickets for pretty much every game that will never happen, even in the Prem

Why do you say that?
Currently £31 now so assuming they apply the 8% that would put them to around £34. I still dont think £34 for a walk up ticket isnt too bad to be completely honest but I am somebody who can make maybe 10 games a season depending on work and other commitments

It's madness. I already have a ST (In the south stand) so will be paying a renewal either way but I don't want to pay £200+ to take a 4 year old into the South Stand.

I'd love to see what they tell the marketing guys as they approach the summer.

"Final push for sales. Make sure you emphasise how bad a deal any new prospects will get. Make sure you tell them they're paying 100 quid more. Once we're done with that its the matchday sales. I really need you to drill home that its five to ten pounds more than away games."

Man City's £350 tickets apply to a small number of seats up in the gods at the very back of the third tier of their south stand. Yes they're cheap, but they're cheap for a reason.

Any comparison that looks at cheapest available tickets will never truly be like-for-like.

Yes but the same can’t be said for Fulham, Brentford, Southampton, etc.

I'll email the club and see what they advise. This could all be academic depending what happens next week, although the youngest is now asking every day when we're going to the football!

But you knew there was a ticket price increase coming and on a thread talking about it, where people were accusing another member of MSF of lying, you played dumb..
That isn't the case but I would prefer to wait and not pre-empt a press statement from Boro forum.

I think the fact they’ve been frozen for so long meant this rise however unfortunate was sadly inevitable.
