End of the BBC

Someone disagreed, saying NHS yes, BBC no, so I referred to the recent YouGov tracker poll from last quarter that shows the BBC is popular with the public to illustrate that maybe I’m more aware of general public opinion than they or the Tories are. I’m the one living in an echo chamber though, apparently.
No you're only posting 1 YouGov poll that fit your view - not the 2 YouGov polls I have highlighted

Defunding the BBC will just accelerate the dumbing down of a country that's already got a very large minority of ignorant people. A populist move by a complete dimwit of a culture minister.
Go and watch the TV somewhere like the USA or Australia and see how **** it is compared to what we get here for now.

funding which will now dictate it's political direction, it's the end of any semblance of neutrality it will just become another profit centre for rich media moguls
How is that any different to now? They just say whatever The Tories want them to say. And employ idiots like Chris Chin Balls to ruin Doctor Who. I'm more neutral than the BBC. And that's really saying something.

No, just logical business sense - if a competitor is severely disadvantaged that's obviously a good thing
See that's the issue. Without government meddling the BBC can act in the public interest without feeling the need to "compete". The public should be given news without spin, lies and ulterior motives.

but whose stories and quotes will you be able poach?
We don't quote/or source the BBC as most of their stuff is from Press Releases (which we have access to) or PR representatives - some content is obviously by their reporters, but a lot is simply rewritten

Never going to happen unfortunately, they will ALWAYS be spin - no matter what 'side' you're on
I do agree with that. Many moons ago I worked in a PR and Marketing department so saw first hand how things could be portrayed to suit a certain narrative.
