We are conceding goals regularly and he is at fault for a lot of them.

Hes terrible a beast of an assist machine for the opposition. Must have been negatively involved in a at least half the goals conceeded this season. We should have gone for joe bryan last summer but that wouldn't fit the left back model because hes half decent
 
I was paying attention to him yesterday to see if he was unlucky or whether he was making mistakes. In one passage of play they had 2 chances down our left side because he left a huge gap by following an attacker to nowhere, one of them even diving in and missing the ball. It's like primary school defending just chasing the ball when you have no chance of getting to it.
 
Engel is quality.. he had a few mistakes when he was thrown in at the deepend now it seems to be how everyone sees him.

Same as most of the season tbh.

A left sided forward, with the pace + defensive work ethic of Jones would be my Number 1 priority in the Summer.

Is he good enough as a top 4 left back, probably not.
but it's tough to judge him when the only player in the squad suitable to play in front of him isn't fit / on the naughty step ( Mcgree)

Tbh I think he'd be more confident as a wing back.

Hear this all the time. What would it matter if he had someone in front of him yesterday. He still would have been the wrong side of his man and they still would have scored. That was just rank bad defending.

I watched 7 and 8 year old kids getting told to stay goalside this morning and they did a better job than Engel 👍🏻

It's not an isolated incident. Really bad basic defending has been clear all season. From his very first match.

It must be why he’s been given these two sub cameos because the actual substitutions didn’t make much sense. Must be to get him ready to start a game.

Reckon he’ll start against Preston.
