They won’t be holding stock themselves though, they’ll just be using a print on demand service

Even the print on demand guys don't hold stock. Most of the wholesalers ship next day AM as long as you order before 8pm the night before if you're a regular customer.

Here's an example of stock at one of the wholesalers. This is just a fairly standard black cotton T-shirt, slightly heavier weight than standard.
