Finn Azaz called up for Ireland

Michael Cummins. I think he played for the Irish youths and almost broke through for us under Robbo.

Also the legendary Ronnie O’Brien.
 
I really like Azaz. He should be starting games.
I take the point about Brum but he came on late into a team that had already spent 90% of the game misplacing passes and getting caught in possession. He didnt particularly stand out good or bad
 
Has anyone mentioned Alan Moore yet?

Great news for Finn, and also I love Ireland and the Irish. I mean half the people in the Boro have Irish descendants don't they? Especially over the border!
 
Kelham O'Hanlon was born in Saltburn :eek:
All these years I thought he was irish, born and bred.
Did I dream that he was threatened by the IRA and had to be replaced for a match because of it? - Probably one of those Marc Almond-type urban myths.

It did happen, can't remember exactly what happened, probably a hoax threat, think it was against Blackburn

The threat definitely happened though I think he still played. I thought it was against Wolves but I might be getting mixed up with the 'bullets buried in the penalty area' hoax, which I think was at Molineux.

And as far as I am aware, O'Hanlon didn't need his stomach pumping for any reason.

When he has played centrally, as a 10, with runners either side he has looked quality, admittedly, those moments in games have been few and far between. The current system doesn't really suit him, and when we were playing 4231 without a CF and without Jones he didn't have anyone running in behind, or any one with pace to stretch teams to create space to play. He also needs a more combative player behind him, rather than Barlaser as he doesn't press effectively

I am confident that we will return to 4231, with Azaz as the "10" and he will thrive. Just might be next season.
