Football Focus Struggling!!!

I’ve never watched whilst she has been presenting it, truth be told I haven’t watched in a decade. Didn’t even know she was the presenter. I used to think she was spot on with her analysis and that she was a good presenter during the World Cup. I’m not a misogynist though.

They haven't employed Alex Scott simply to tick boxes , they've employed her because she has over a hundred caps for England and is a professional and competent presenter.

I don't care if Alex Scott was green with purple spots and came from Mars, but was a great presenter, then good, that's what she would be employed to do.
But she's not a good presenter, and cannot even pronounce simple words. so how can she have a job that requires reading from an auto-cue on TV.
That does not make me racist or sexist, Laura Woods is a great presenter, I think she is female last time I looked.
 
The coverage of live football clashes with it so people probably watch that instead.
As others have said, the rise of the internet and other sources of similar ‘articles’, means its space has been squeezed.
I still put it on when I’m home.

Doesn't help that there doesn't really seem to be too much on there with much broad appeal. I caught a bit yesterday and all I saw was a feature on Gillingham, a feature and discussion about Carlton Morris, a feature about a Swansea fan with a disability, and a feature and discussion about the new FIFA game and its Ultimate Team mode, and it's just like... who is this for? Feel like it used to just be discussions about that weekends games and it might have still had that yesterday but there was none of it from what I saw of it.
 
I used to watch it as I have no sky and so it what little content I can get. Stopped the last few seasons. They debate between the guests and presenters tends to be stilted and boring. The pieces tend to be send a dull interviewer to interview a dull footballer who has been media trained to within an inch of his life. It's just a really poor programme that the beeb just put no effort into. Opening post is a bit cringeworthy.

It's a shame there isn't a decent football magazine show. Saint and greavsie, fantasy football - there's a show that Scottish BBC makes which is infinitely better.
 
Maybe if she didn’t have to sit there and have garbage like Stephen Warnock or Jermaine Jenas to bounce off the show might be a little better.

If we’re looking at presenters, look no further than cricket. Isa Guha is brilliant and Alex Hartley, Ebony Rainford-Brent, and Alison Mitchell are great too. Infact the majority of cricket pundits are very good. Very knowledgeable, good commentating and feel like they don’t always have to say something, as many good pundits should. Many football pundits need to realise this.

You probably heard me roll my eyes when I read toby young tweet that FF had gone ‘woke’ and that was the reason for poor viewing figures..
It’s probably just because the format is rubbish nowadays…

We're never included, so not interested, very big team & during cup runs southern centric.

Btw some of the previous presenters were no great shakes, Lawrenson was dreary, as anything, Hanson was so Liverpool biased it was unbelievable

Seems to me that "woke" just means having a social conscience. At least from that perspective you can understand why so many nasty party members use it.

I don't really care who anchors these shows. It's not what you watch them for is it?

Anyone making a decision based on that is a bit weird imo.

(If it did matter though, Scott would make me more likely to watch than not. Call me shallow but I'd rather have someone nice to look at than someone who's good at saying "and now over to Dion who's been spending a day with the Plymouth tea lady").
