Gentry Day, again, sorry.

I like the Ayrsome Angels idea, it links into our past regarding the remberance of family members and fellow Boro fans , more modern idea are great but we have a rich history so why not tap into it, it's a link between past and present generations.
Ayresome Angels were over 50 years ago, Ayresome Park was nearly 30 years ago..

The Ayresome Angels were all about bright clothing and enthusiastic singing ‘loyalty’ - closer to what red faction were doing recently. Flat caps and a slide show of dead fans at the Riverside doesn’t say Ayresome Angels to me.

Preston fans were canny, they’ve got a fun day that caught the attention.. fair play to them.

I maybe misunderstanding but Ayresome Park was in use in 1995, 27 years ago.
No sure I’d call someone who was 27 nearly 40 😂

I meant nearly 30.. the point was that if anything to do with Brazilians was out of date then so was anything to do with Ayresome.

Nah, we have agreat set of fans.
In the main we do.. but let’s not kid ourselves. Like all clubs we have a small number of fans who don’t really care about everyone enjoying themselves so long as they get to do whatever they want to do. There has been countless posts on here about it.. wether it’s taking up pre allocated seats, drinking/vaping in the stands or flagrant drug abuse in toilets.

‘Like all clubs’

‘Like all clubs’
Yep.. still doesn't excuse our element though or invalidate anything i've said.

My last away day with my teenage daughter wasn't a pleasant experience due to a few idiots so I have first hand experience of them, perhaps you haven't.. lets agree to disagree on this one.

Not sure why you have to belittle images of supporters who have passed, as perhaps a better way than disrupting the match with individual sporadic minute applauses.
I'm not bothered about an Ayresome Angels themed thing, but again puzzled why you seem to be.

(IMHO)
1. It would be good to have an annual opportunity to collectively remember supporters who have passed the previous year and that would be best at home. Leave the minute applauses as one-offs like Ali, Leo.
2. It might also be good to have a themed day out at an away match every year as Preston just did. The Gentry is about recognising those passed, ours wouldn't have to be.
We can't do a day out unless it is to a ground c300 miles away that might not already sell out.
Or to a ground that will give us a huge allocation of tickets - good luck with that.

Forced grieving it’s just a bit.. not for me. Of course there are instances where the entire fanbase are effected as with Ali Brownlee. It feels like we’re moving into a situation where we are being forced to grieve and being made to feel bad for not doing so. Imagine if I walked in to showcase cinema with the gazzette’s death notifications page open and demanding everyone stand and clap in acknowledgement.

Not sure what an Ayresome Angels theme would be.. seems like we’ve waited a fair while to bring it up. I’m not bothered about it, just said it was less relevant to a celebration at the Riverside than a Brazilian style Samba party.

Our fanbase can remember supporters who have passed anytime they want. It does feel like a bit of a bandwagon jumping sort of thing and I find it to be crass and distasteful.

Lots of groups of fans go out of their way to enjoy themselves, have a bit of fun.. maybe we’ll do something.. maybe not.
