Getting booked for taking your shirt off

This ridiculous rule needs to be done away with.
What harm does it do?
The hardest thing to do is score a goal and seeing a player show that kind of emotion is a great spectacle.

Yes, they know the rule and it's always a silly booking, but it is just a pointless, negative rule.

I understand the sponsor wants to see their logo, so a savy player or club should make sure the sponsors logo is on the players base layers or gps vest.

I wonder if you ripped off your shirt, but had another on underneath, you could still get booked?

I wondered why players started wearing black bras!

Daft rule yes......even more 'daft' taking it off knowing you'll get booked. Just imagine he miss timed a challange 5 mins later.

I understand it if it's a 91st min winner etc. To go 0-2 up with a tap in maybe not as much😂

It's a stupid really if only for the reasons it is in. To make sure sponsors get full exposure when a goal is scored. For that reason alone it should be scrapped, and it's for that reason alone it won't be scrapped

That's possibly a reason for the rule but I think there's far more to it than that. I don't want to see players' extreme political views, social views or their own money making enterprises when they take off their shirts.

Some footballers are as thick as castle doors so you could expect a few of them to flaunt an antivax message for example.

Don't give them the chance when they are being paid to play football, not act as an advertising medium.

That's a separate issue which has a specific rule covering it.

I don't think that's the case at all. It's entirely to protect the sponsors. As @Rofesleg has said there are separate laws for political slogans and the like.

Women footballers seem to be able to control the urge to do it alright (mores the pity etc etc).
And that is the reason why players get booked for taking the shirt off- to discourage perverts at womens games to shout at the girls, (not that I am calling you a pervert Festa), who mostly young teenagers, to get their shirts off and show us your t1ts.
I would bet that if people were shouting at the men to get their shorts off and show us your c0cks game after game there would be complaints too.
The laws of the game are the same from grassroots to international and so they should be. Mind you VAR has put a spoke in that.

You guys do know that they wear sports bras under their shirts, don't you?

So you're not going to see anything much different from what we saw with Hernandez.

For instance, here's the famous picture of Brandi Chastain with her shirt off after scoring the winning penalty in the Women's World Cup Final.

If that turns you on then fine but as I say, you're not really seeing much.

I know that Liamo- Just imagine your daughter/girlfiend etc being shouted at to show her boobs. How would you feel but more importantly, how would your daughter/girlfriend feel? Threatened? bullied? afraid? even if she is wearing a sports bra.
One of the girls I fostered a few years ago was a very good footballer and played for a local team. After scoring a goal the idiots on the touchline (mostly men and boys) wanted her to lift her shirt up and show her boobs. She came off the pitch crying and never played again. This is not the only occasion this has happened. We need to protect our youngsters whatever their sex and if booking a player helps to encourage this then that is good. Perhaps more education is needed in clubs and organisations
