Giles to Luton done

This reminds me of going out with a girl that was really good at crosses but not so good at defending and wanted 5 million quid to stick around. Then I caught her playing for Luton.
Sometimes you just have to move on don’t you?
How strange, this happened to me?! One day I accused her of cheating and she wriggled out of it by whipping in a scrumptious delivery and out of nowhere Chuba jumped out of my bed and buried a header into my fridge. I was so impressed I forgot what I was saying and forgot Im a 5/10 and put a bid in to keep her anyway. Her and Chuba both went together and I cried and cried

This has certainly been an odd one hasnt it?

I was playing footy tonight with a good mate who's working at Luton's training ground. Giles arrived just before lunch and he had a very quick chat with him. Security we're **** hkt on him not taking photos though.

He never saw him train at all but said an hour later he had training kit on and there were cameras all around. I'm guessing this will be announced imminently if its not already.

Gutted to see him go but wish him all the best. He's my 8 year olds second favourite player (after Chuba 😂)

Edit*. I hadn't read the tone of some of the more recent posts taking the ****. I'm not for a second pretending to be ITK.

I live in Beds/Bucks and one of my mates works for the club as a subby. He's not a bullshitter.

EBD, out of interest - What information did your Luton Town training ground mate get from him, when he had his chat with him?

Just small talk mate, welcome to the club, loved watching you play last season. No big inside info. It was all very quick and wasn't expected

He is there again today though.

Giles has now signed. He did take 6 days from a fee being agreed to the announcement.

He obviously got a deal that he was happy with. and Luton gives him a chance to play in a Premier League fixture.

To me he certainly has the potential to suceed in the Premier League and is a sensible buy for Luton @ £5m.

At least we will not be playing against him. My biggest worry was that one of the parachute Championship clubs would pick him up.

Giles was a huge part of our game with his crossing ability. A real disappointment to not get him back.

We didn’t get promoted last season btw

How many assists did he provide in the playoffs?

I'm judging him over the season not two games? He provided more assists last season than any Boro player has in a season since Traore. So are you saying that you wouldn't have wanted Giles back? If we manage to get a LB in who can cross as well as Giles could when travelling with the ball then we'll have done very well indeed.

Newydion (and not just him to be fair) has spent a good deal of forum space over the past few days convincing themselves that we wont miss him, You know the same lines - that he was a crap defender, hardly scored, dried up with assists etc etc etc. but secretly loved him and will be lamenting for a day or so.

Anyway Ryan good luck and ta.

3 assists in 2023?

he had 7 assists before that.. like Barlaser.. so good I guess.

Giles had 11 assists in total.

Crooks managed 13 goal involvements with a hernia along the way.

Giles was Wilder’s player and he continued to do well under Carrick. Some of his crosses and passes were sublime. I genuinely wish him and Luton all the best.. hopefully they play him further up the pitch.

£5m is a top end price for a full back in the prem.. I would rather we continued to recruit smartly and conceded far fewer goals
