Whoever stays won't 'Challange' Pope. They are going to be No2 or even 3

Although they have just moved on Woodman. I guess it's a case of it you wonna be a No2 or 3 in the prem or play 30-40 games in the champo. Many keepers can go a whole career without ever really being No1 and happy with that.

I don't think Iverson is an option unless it's a loan. I read they want 5mil+ on a perm and don't want to loan him out again.

Still plenty of options. I'd still like Heaton. It's easy to forget just how good he was at Burnley and on loan at Villa. A tremendous shot stopper.
Henderson going to Forest means Heaton is Man U #2. So if they re looking to bring in a #2 to backup De Gea we may have to wait a bit until the situation is resolved.
Butland another option? Wasn't particularly enthralled when we were linked, but still only 29 and if he wants to be a #1 rather than Palace #2.....🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Fairly sure Villa paid close to £8M for him, rather than a loan, but picked up a knee injury halfway through his first season there and he has never got back to 1st team anywhere since - buyer beware?

Something tells me Darlow would rather be no2 at Newcastle, playing the odd cup game, part of "something big happening" up the road, rather than come here and fight for promotion.

Money talks and money pays the mortgage, not first team appearances or promotion winners medals, unfortunately.

Get Schmichael in, if Leicester want to keep Iverson.
Starting last year of his contract, Leicester pay him off in lieu of testimonial...we give him £30k a week, with £2million bonus (= extra £40k a week ?), on promotion.

Easy peasy

He won't be second choice, Dubravka will.

Can't see Dubravka being a #2, he's definitely a starter, a top level keeper. So Pope comes in, Dubravka leaves, Darlow #2.

Won't lose sleep over it. He's just one of a few we are being linked with 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

are you thinking like me that Liam Roberts might be our number 1 next season?

Definitely doesn't sound like it from Wilder's comments.

"As I've said to you guys, we all have different opinions of the game, but I’m not daft. The goalkeeping department needed an upgrade, and we're in the process of doing that with Liam. We're bringing another keeper in, and I've brought Alan [Fettis] in, which is a really important addition. Fabulous pedigree."

It sounds more like Roberts could be molded in to a future first choice with that sort of comment and Roberts himself saying they've already started working on improving his footwork.
