Haaland

It's not just in England either is it. Haaland was prolific in Austria and Germany too. The lad is a goal scoring machine and will continue to score loads for the next ten years. I'd be surprised if he stays for long in England. Real Madrid are probably already eyeing him up.

13 v Big Sam's ™® Leeds United?? Shirley not.. Big Sam ™® is the greatest manager that has ever been.. he's Top of the Ponzi.. 🤣👍
BFS will attempt to board up the goal with several planks of wood and park a fleet of buses across the six yard line.

I wonder where his head is at. Become an icon at City and in the PL breaking all the records, or just have 2,3 seasons here then go do it in Spain, then Italy/France etc and finish knowing he's conquered every major league? I'd be inclined to say he'll stay put especially with his ties to City and the UK, but part of me thinks he'll be gone in a couple of years but it won't look very good on City being this powerhouse with loads of money and ambition if their talisman leaves.

I've no doubt Real Madrid covet him, but whether they can compete with Man City financially is another question. Just look at their attempt to sign Mbappe. They thought that deal was done but PSG/Qatar made him an offer he couldn't refuse/Real couldn't match. I suspect City will take a similar approach with Haaland's new contract and price him out of a move to Madrid, at least for several years.

Some of the Norwegians I work with seem to think he'll go to Real Madrid at some point. English football is huge in Norway, but Spanish football becoming more popular (or at least Real, Atletico and Barca).

To put it into context, that 35 in 31 he has now takes him past Afonso Alves' Heerenveen season of 34 in 31.

He's got 51 in 45 in all comps. Messi got 73 in 60 in 2011/12. Not sure he'll get near that.

I suspect he will miss a couple of league games now the record has been broken, especially around the Real Madrid games.

Guy is a machine and will score wherever he plays. Who knows what numbers he will hit providing he stays injury free.

He is like the Terminator.
It amazes me, where most forwards would jump to head a ball, he just sticks out a telescopic leg, connects, and it’s in the back of the net!

he's like the cheat strikers that my son makes on fifa. all stats maxed and built like a brick **** house.

i love that he is up for a scrap too. not just a goalscorer. he can bully even the biggest hardest defenders around the pitch

if he stays fit he will score an incredible amount of goals

Another thing benefiting him is defenders getting smaller. The requirement for players to be able to play out from the back has favoured better ball players rather than hardmen and they tend to be smaller. The big brutish centre backs of old are not as present these days so he can bully them. He's 6ft 4 which is big but would have been standard for a defender not so long ago. Last night he was bigger than both of West Ham's centre backs. They are still tall but not tall enough that they have an advantage over him. Add in the pace as well and he's almost impossible to stop.

I'm not so sure, they may look smaller but their strength and conditioning will be amazing. Otherwise you'd have people like Weghort being physically dominant against smaller CBs every game when he's clearly not. With Man City for example, they haven't got a particularly huge team height wise but all their players seem amazingly strong with a very low center of gravity. This adds to the argument about Haaland just being an absolute freak of nature rag dolling very strong and fit athletes like he's playing a bunch of kids. An Orc goal scoring machine as I saw him described today.

I agree Haaland's pace is a big factor but he's just an explosive player who has the talent of knowing where space will be before it appears and rarely looking like missing. He's like a peak Michael Owen on steroids.

I'm not sure that's correct about small centre backs, City's aren't and Liverpool have two bigger than Haaland. I haven't checked the others but I'm sure there's a few big centre backs about, the difference now to the past is that they have to be able to play football, not just head, tackle and clear.
