But he can we "reclaim" it? If I even mention St George's day people might think I'm a brexiteer. And I can't have that, not even slightly.

The fact that most people don't feel a need to celebrate the nation is a kind of celebration. I would not like the UK to become a puerile exercise in nationalism with flags everywhere like the USA. That is just a statement of insecurity and group think, though we have the monarchy for that kind of thing.

Not exactly what I'm suggesting but do think more people than not would be happy to have a day where the best of living in England and the people who live here could be celebrated. From my perspective that is best done at a local level rather than the big set piece King/Marching Guards/Fly past stuff which hold no real interest
 
It’s a strange way to celebrate a St George’s Day…having a partial knee replacement. Anyway, all done. Just the physio now, before I can slay the dragon.

I’m of Catholic origin but the Twelth parades in NI I’ve been too have been good. Based on the community getting out and having a good time.

I happened to be in Portadown for theirs and it was a good example of everyone looking out for each other.

Something along those lines

I’ve waited in A&E for 13 hours, it was a horrendous experience sat watching the state of people coming through with incredible mental health issues
Need ID to vote as well now (keep those people away who don’t vote for the Tories)
Roads falling apart
Schools literally falling apart and hugely underfunded
Mental health services virtually pointless as all are about 6 sessions then carve them out of the door 🙈🤷‍♂️

(We’re all in it together - yeah right)

As soon as we can - we are gone for somewhere more tolerant and warmer 👌
Let the far right turn it into the Wild West and just like the USA (GB news and far right propaganda media will never give up and get their way)

Saint George was good at Dragons. But we need to borrow Saint Patrick…he was good with snakes. We have multitudes of those, he can start in Parliament and work outwards. Cleanse the land and return it to the people.

Make as much money as you can....if that's off the back of someone's misery - it is what it is....!

A real community feel to those messages and celebrating something like a national day is about community and togetherness but this country 'collectively' is way past that - the ship has well and truly sailed my son....
