Here we go again with Covid

I think you can have your booster at a walk in THEN cancel your booked appointment.

I'd probably chance a walk in as you have a bit of a wait.

I had a booster appointment booked for early Jan but went to a walk in centre on Sunday instead. Tried to cancel my booked appointment afterwards but it wouldn't let me however I have since had a text from NHS saying they have cancelled my appointment so it seems there is nothing to do as they clearly pick up on who has been to a walk in.

Just seems like last year. Mention a new varient and a rise in cases then no doubt go Tier 4 a week before Xmas. It's almost like it's been 'drip fed' over the last 2 weeks to prepare us.

I can really see the footy getting shut down if it keeps on. Especially as its effecting the premier league (so everyone will follow). Then pubs and clubs will follow. Happy Xmas🎄😒

It's slightly annoying knowing the large majority of professional footballers are yet to be vaccinated (if you believe what's wrote) and Warnocks comments about our lot.

It's bloody annoying about the booster. I'm on 5 months since my second and could have had it anytime in the last month or so but wasn't allowed. Its now 'you must get a booster' and folk are queuing around the block and websites crashing.

I'm really worried that this is now the new 'normal'. It's pretty nailed on that you'll get 2-3 new varients every year.
You could actually have got your booster after 5 months , it’s not widely known but walk in centres were giving boosters to those with only a 5 month gap, seems strange but I got mine in Newcastle at the Uni , we were just leaving our daughters graduation and they had a bus parked up .They asked if we wanted the jab and we explained that we were already booked in for Dec 1st for our boosters. The reply was you don’t have to wait 6 months ,if you use a walk in and so we got jabbed in early November.

I believe it cancels your appointment automatically,at least that’s what happened with mine, took a few days for my booster to show on my records but my booked appointment had disappeared .

Similarities with when Covid first manifested.

‘Why are people panicking - it’s just flu’

‘Nobody will need to go to hospital’

‘Nobody will die’

We know what happened next….

Though I do understand the human tendency to deny something which is very unpleasant and unpalatable.
I don't think people are denying it, they're quoting some of the scientific opinion.

Currently it seems that it will spread faster, but with less serious cases, but of course the whole thing could change as more data is gathered.

Ah - that answers my question. I was in the same boat but couldn't cancel. That will be why.

Are we just going to be going round in circles like this for the rest of our lives?
Thee Russian flu pandemic of the late 19th century is now the "common cold" and the Spanish Flu pandemic remains with us now (anyone had their flu jab), so yes, it will be here permanently, in some form or another.

I have given up, Suffering massively with mental health, business has gone bust.

Moved back to be closer to family/friends, dont know where to get a booster.

I am in the high risk category, had both jabs to date, but have had enough.

I dont enjoy living this life, if I get the virus then fair enough.

Not the most positive of posts, but it is where I now find myself.

I appreciate you are sick of all of this but you have come this far, do yourself (and your family) a favour and get your booster. Things will get better.

Not sure where you live so can't help with the booster locations but I think Darlo Arena are doing walk ups now.

Stay safe (y)

It amazes me how nonchalant and flippant posters on here are. 'Oh yeah, we'll be going into a lockdown'. 'Football will be shut down' etc etc. Talking like this has a huge effect on the mental health of posters and it's talked about as if it's no big deal, almost welcomed. I find it astounding. I, like many, come on this board to get away from the hourly bombardment of Armageddon news and you can't move for posts.

I guess that's me out too.

Sorry to hear about your business Devon. It was designing and selling kitchens wasn't it? Any scope to start it up again from a smaller starting position? Could help keep your mind busy in these horrible times.

This whole Omicron situation looks very sketchy to me.

Great 'look over there' distraction by Boris? Convenient for him perhaps (by his cockyeyed view) but it doesn't explain why Sage have the other nations spooked.
S Africa are coping well with it so why are we being panicked by UK Gov?

It's either something really bad, that they don't want to share right now or they have all just totally lost the plot.

It's never been the way of Boris and Co to adopt a safety first cautious approach at any point. He's not bothered about how many are lost and he has the perfect scapegoat for a NHS collapse, after which he can open it up to line his mates pockets.

This could be the biggest cry of wolf we have ever witnessed or alternatively a totally unmitigated disaster as we reaffirm the UK as the sick man of Europe.

Hard to know what to believe now. Suppose only time is going to tell.

Thanks Randy, You are correct I had a kitchen franchise. Too be honest the recent journey has been so difficult, that I dont wish to continue with it. I have tried to protect my staff for a long time, also paying up my suppliers, but the demand of franchisors and the customers was too great.

I can return to being employed in jobs that I have done previously or I can retire for a while.

Thank you for caring

People are always here mate. You could even go into just the design aspect of it working for yourself. Please try to keep busy with tasks etc.
