At least they'll love the karaoke in the boot 'n' shoe!
Given the money it will bring into the host city all week they will move things! It will be between Glasgow and Liverpool. Both riverside arenas (yes Newcastle is too but there’s an ugly wall and scrub separating the river from the Utilita.). My thoughts are it will still be in Glasgow.I did read the other day that every one of the proposed venues has to do a lot of moving around. Apparently the song contest requires a six week period where nothing else happens in the chosen arena, and of course there'll be lots of tours already booked in those arenas for next year.
So the Reynolds Arena might not be out of it yet....
Don't need one. Dusseldorf football stadium has been used,What indoor arena of 10000 plus capacity is in the vicinity?
Well you do. The Düsseldorf arena has a retractable roof. The 2011 ESC was therefore “indoors”.Don't need one. Dusseldorf football stadium has been used,
This is shocking bias to the big cities
So what if darlo has no where to host it, no arena to stage the thing in or no hotels to house the contestants media and spectators.
Come on apart from those minor things why on earth has darlo been over looked it’s truly shocking.
I hope this doesn’t effect billinghams plans to host the Winter Olympics .
Billingham was edged out by Qatar for the winter Olympics unfortunately.I hope this doesn’t effect billinghams plans to host the Winter Olympics .
I am afraid thats gone too, now that the snow dome cant host the men's downhill event.I hope this doesn’t effect billinghams plans to host the Winter Olympics .
Is that an insurmountable problem?Well you do. The Düsseldorf arena has a retractable roof. The 2011 ESC was therefore “indoors”.
Putting a retractable roof on the Reynolds? Not sure where this line of argument is going given the circumstances but I’ll play. No - if you’re willing to pay for it. I’m not. I’m sure most sane people wouldn’t either so yes it is probably insurmountableIs that an insurmountable problem?

You're easily boughtNot sure what peoples issue is here. Shock as mayor does something to promote the region, that hasn’t cost anything, and showed a bit of ambition (even if it was never going to happen).

It's highlighted our inability to elect a decent mayor. How has it promoted the region, other than perhaps highlighting the lack of suitable facilities to host such an event ?
