How much do we get for latte lath in the summer

Every player has his price, I personally think we'd entertain bids around the £20m mark for ELL but I also think there's no chance of any offers coming in for him this Summer in that ballpark.

Lille were in the directors box looking at him at the Leeds game. just had this confirmed this morning.

Hopefully there won’t be any clubs lining up for 25 yr old 20 goals plus striker in the summer
He’s not a 20+ goal striker though, he’s literally never hit 20 in a season. He has 53 goals in nearly 200 games in his career mostly playing for a bunch of nothing teams and even then was barely scoring.

I like him, he works hard, he’s in great form, and I hope it continues next season. But he’s nowhere near a £20-30m player, no club in world football is paying anywhere close to that. It’s not like he’s some young player with potential having a breakout season. He’s 25, and this is his first season scoring more than 15 goals.

As I say, I like him, I hope he stays and keeps it going next season, but people are suddenly going on like we’ve got a young (Brazilian) Ronaldo on our hands and talking silly numbers.

Or alternatively hopefully there won't be any clubs willing to gamble on spending what it would take to tempt us to sell (£20+ million?) based on a 3 month purple patch in the championship.
It would be good to see some evidence from the club to show some balls and refuse to sell rather than just bit have any interested buyers

He’s been out booking a lot , he’s here as a permanent signing and he’s got the carrot if the prem in front of him . His record while he’s been here shows evidence of being a 20 goal striker with him sat on 17 in all competitions this season whilst bit being fully fit for a lot of it and playing in a new country .

Can't see him leaving - he is 25 and has never started a season where he has finished the previous one.
I'd be amazed if he pushed for a move after finally finding a "home" and proving himself.

Similarly, goal scorers are rarer than rocking horse $hit, so whilst we might get some large bids, I can't imagine Boro accepting it with a player who is settled one year into a five year deal.

Has there been rumours of clubs interested hence why this thread was created? 😓

They can p**s off if so.
It’s more fans of opposition teams saying the liked him and he was ‘some player’ and they said they’d struggle to see boro hold onto him

I don't think Lath will go. I don't see any established Prem club being interested based on a good 10 match run. Potentially one of the promoted clubs would take a punt but I'm not sure any would match our valuation. Leicester could potentially be looking to replace Vardy but they can't spend can they?

If he bangs in 20+ goals next season then we could struggle to keep him.

I have.

Got posters on here willing Hackney to be sold too.
Do you know the difference between someone stating what they think will happen and posters stating what they want to happen?

Do you think every poster that predicts a Boro loss wants them to lose?

I think all our players are in the shop window. The question is what amount is an offer we couldn’t refuse and who would replace him at a fraction of the cost. It’s too early for him to leave, he needs to develop more, become a better player and in a season or 2 COULD be a top player
The thing is we sell to invest, there are no shareholders taking profit out. If we sell 1 player we can fund 3 or 4 first teamers, with profit to spare. But what we don’t want is to sell two big players the same summer. If we sell path for 20m, we will go buy 3 new players for 5-6m each. If we sell Hackney as well and have 45m incoming we could buy 5 or 6 first teamers, but why would we do that because then we would have too many players and some of the squad we have invested in would be surplus and wouldn’t have a squad number.

I only see one of the three big assets leaving at most. It’s just far too disruptive to sell more and impossible to reinvest properly

We sold one big asset in January plus crooks, neither of who we would have been expecting to sell - so from that point of view I doubt the club will have planned this summer with another big loss in mind.

That said, it seems we will sell anyone at the right price, I just hope we really push hard on price if it comes to it.

I'm really hoping we can keep him and him being our main striker.
I would like Josh to be included in the squad again as he offers something different and then bring in another younger or foreign striker with the right attributes hopefully without the pressure to perform from the start or the season and develop him.
Selling him adds additional pressure to the recruitment team trying to find a replacement who can hit the ground running within the clubs budget(including wages)and leave less funds to strengthen other areas. It is also additional pressure to the squad dynamics, we have ended the season pretty well so it would make sense to try keep at least the core of the squad and make improvements overall in areas we have been struggling in long term rather than needing to find replacements for selling key players.

What he's worth to us is a minimum of Archer price .
None of this potential for this , or maybe that.
Every team promoted from the championship for quite some time has an established focal point.

I don't think he's worth £20-30 million but that's what we should ask for if anyone enquires about him. I think as a club we need to me more hard nosed when it comes to what we're prepared to sell players for. You look at the situation with Rogers, it's been a bit galling to read and hear recently in lots of different places what an absolute bargain he's been for Villa.
ELL even at 25 has the potential to get a lot better, his development this season in just a few months has been clear to see
The transfer market is insane, unfortunately we can't afford to be reasonable.
