How to maximise the atmosphere on Wednesday

I think we are all hoping Wednesday will be electric and akin to the Brentford play off and Brighton games.

Anyone got any thoughts on what we can do as fans to get the riverside bouncing as much as we can?

I’ll be getting there a good 20 minutes earlier than usual to try and join in any chanting pre kick off. It will make a big difference if as many people as possible are seated early.

I think Rob had said there is something planned in terms of a display?

If there is a way the usual pre match video/audio can be played 10 minutes earlier to give a good gap for crowd chanting to properly start that would be great. Maybe reduce the volume a tad.

When the game gets underway, I’m sure red faction will be central in keeping the chanting up for large spells. It would be great to see the south all singing as one rather than two different ends. This also tends to help with getting the other 3 sides involved. Let’s here lots of the classic chants, but try and embrace anything new if you can. We’ve got super Michael Carrick, Finest team in football, C’mon Boro (at every corner), boro boro boro, follow follow follow, chants for Jones, steffan, Howson, Chuba, Hackney, Crooks…

Anyone sat in the north stand - sing loud and proud. We’re the north stand, we’re the north stand, we’re the north stand red army! Bounce off the south!

Set aside any fears of Steffan taking risks. Give him a cheer and be thankful we have a keeper with such a passing range and who can take a forward out of the game with a simple turn in close proximity.

And if the worst happens and we go behind - remember all those times under carrick where this has happened and we’ve then scored 3 or 4 to win comfortably.

Let’s hope for a great atmosphere.

Well said. I too will be in my seat early in the SW corner roaring the team on. The lads and Carrick deserve it as they've turned the season around and we're so close now. It will be electric I'm absolutely sure of that. A repeat of the Brentford 2nd leg.

Switch the music off 20 minutes before kick-off. Last game both their fans and ours were singing just before the teams came out but were drowned out by the music.

Play the video montage 20 minutes before kick-off and then switch the music off.

Also, play songs which we use for the players. Play "There I saw her walking down the street" and everyone will more than likely sing the words to the Chuba song. He usually does it after the game.

We really need to push this through to the club if possible. It Could make a huge difference to the start of the game. Would be great if we managed to get the message to the club and it was announced to fans it was happening and then we would all get there early to help build a fantastic atmosphere. It is a huge game.

Mark Page used to be the same although I remember he turned the music off early before the Brentford game and it was electric.

Just listen to that noise.

Wasn't there some weird but famous monologue from a boxing coach played before the Brentford game?

I don’t think it would do anything for the atmosphere being sung BEFORE a match we are expected to win.
For me, it is the type of song I would only join in with if we had already been relegated or something and things were looking bleak. Not a song to get a buzz about the stadium for a huge game
