People are deeply divided on this hymn. I get its historical significance with some people but I always think of it as a song sung in defeat rather than victory. It is a losers song.

To me its a song of defiance, hope and a fighting spirit words that once meant something to Teessiders and Boro fans in particular.

Been to quite a few games where the most noise from the fans was before the kick off. Once it kicked off and we failed to compete we were quiet as mice.
