I think Carrick is on the brink

We just have to soldier on and win the points to stay up, now's not the time for Gibson or the supporters to bottle it. Come what may we have to get behind them against Norwich.
Its tough being a Boro fan at the moment, but its about supporting them at the game on Wednesday.

Absolutely. Some people have no idea what supporting a football team is about.Through thick and thin and I’ve known plenty of thin in nearly 60 years.Carrick is the best thing to happen to this football club for a long time and will prove it given the chance.16months FFS,first time manager, play offs first season, lost his best players close season and played the last 4/5 months without 5/6 first team players every week.
Be careful what you wish for.

His record at home would get most managers sacked.
Does my head in with his neutral non fussed attude to our leaky defence since he started here and its come to bite him on the bum with a vengeance

Because every player on that pitch today was brought to the club for one purpose only; to play first team football. Injuries are the reason why you have a 25 man squad. We've never had to rely on kids in the starting 11. Every team we've put out this season has been a representative one. I don't blame Carrick but I don't blame injuries either. If I blame anybody it's Gibson, Bausor and Scott.

If it's not working I think he'll go, I can't imagine he gets anything out of seeing performances like today

Six weeks ago we were generally pointing out that the quality of football (not the results) was some of the best we had ever seen. We will come good, but it won't be this season. Ridiculous considering changing the manager when he's had to change the lineup every week due to injuries

I still think he is the right man, but he has been let down badly with the recruitment IMO.
I think that's rubbish. He decides to fanny around at the back. He decides to pick a team full of people who can't make a tackle or stop a cross. He decides to play without a forward. He decides to have Barlaser fannying around at every goal kick. It's worse than Strachan. He needs to go.

Here are things that are squarely on him:

- persisting with Glover for too long
- Luke Thomas
- Dan barlaser and playing out from the back
- Forss on the right when we hadn’t got a striker
- McGree under utilised
- Dijksteel being brought on when losing
- Persisting with a style that simply isn’t working

You don’t have a squad of 25 players with equal ability. You have first team players and you have backup players.

Smith
Fry
Lenihan
Engel
Howson
Hackney
Jones

That’s 7 players who would be in our strongest 11. That’s a LOT.

Carrick is going nowhere, he isn’t getting sacked.

Injuries have been our downfall this season.
Injuries + key players leaving + a massive influx of project players. Whatever the reasons for the club selling Rogers and Crooks it's no coincidence goals have gone from being a bit scarce to disappearing all together. MC has been given a dud hand, and no I'm not totally happy with some of his decisions but most managers do things the fans don't like, but that's part of being a manager. When he's given stronger personnel and key players come back next season then I will be more critical of him if things go badly again but not at the moment because it seems like situation has been thrust on him from the club and injuries. lenny and fry both in ahead or VDB? yeah righto.

hackney and jones obviously but the others, engel? hes also terrible. howson is almost as bad a barlaser now, fry has howlers almost every game to. smith and possibly lenny to play with rav. that other left back bangura is the best one by far.

can a manager make a decent team out of LL Forss jones bangura lenny VDB smith hackney aziz dieng and mcgree? we need new players in the summer deary me. we have nothing up front and nobody who can tackle in midfield.

Massive injury list throughout season.
Selling two attacking players and not replacing them in January
Not bringing in a Centre Forward in August or January.

This is why we are where we are.

Can give him many an excuse this year such as recruitment, complete rebuild, excessive injuries etc etc but his team selections and substitutions have been nothing short of woeful. His refusal to change the system what clearly isnt working has us meandering into League 1. He is showing his inexperience at the clubs expense. We are unlikely to be dragged into a relegation battle but its certainly not impossible. Has he lost the dressing room? It certainly looks that way, the players dont seem to care. I really also dont understand the 'best manager we've had in years' comments either, its a mirror image of what many said about Wilder. I dont want him sacked but I cant see how he has deserved to stay in the job. How many games does he get next season, 10? Then we're already on the back foot and having to rebuild mid season - another season wasted.
