In game management

Greenwood off for Silvera - straight swap ( could have re -jigged it moving Forss central)
Ayling off for Dijksteel - straight swap ( maybe could have changed shape at this stage)

There just doesn’t seem to be much thought or imagination when making changes. Once that second goal went in I just knew we weren’t gonna score again.

We are a really frustrating team this season.

I hope next season we start to blossom a bit as it’s tough for us fans right now.

It's one thing that was glaringly obvious last season in the play offs, Carrick doesn't know how to change things mid game. Every time we've been losing and brought it back to win, it was done by continuing to play the same style and not really change anything up. When it needs tinkering and big decisions making, Carrick doesn't seem to know what to do

The Silvera up front was baffling, I'm convinced he'll put Fry up front before he tries Forss

I was thinking this watching the game, and although I was reluctant to mention him, I was looking at the Aberdeen match and going 3 down after only 26 mins, Warnock brought two subs on on 30 mins and they changed the game, drawing 3-3 with one of the subs scoring twice. Now I know you can argue he shouldn't have had to etc, but he realised that he needed to and did it. I couldn't see Carrick doing this. Christ, we where 2 down on Saturday and on the 60 minute mark, they had made 3 subs and we didn't even have anyone warming up! Its just madness!

Carrick has been thrown under the bus by Gibson and Scott, but his stubbornness, naivety and inexperience is going to cost him his job.

It’s a huge concern because in game management for me is one of the main things fans want to see from a manager.

I’m concerned.

Tbh, I don't know what I'd have done differently, cause we just don't have players on the bench that are capable of changing a game, so it literally just becomes a case of managing fitness, giving players minutes, or forced changes.

Yeh you are 100% right, I couldn't see Carrick doing that and it's very worrying

But even when he has had options to make impacts, he hasn't done it or he's left it too late. I've lost count of how many times we've desperately needed to shake things up and he's waited until the 70th minute to bring someone on

Forss up front? If not from the beginning then definetly at some point through the game.

Bring McNair on, go 352. Get bodies in and around the box. There is things he could have done.

Not saying it would have worked but i find his subs aren’t very creative.

Could have tried Hoppe up front?

Maybe - just maybe - he's unwilling to change things as his mentor Mr Ferguson didn't do.

"Four four f*cking two"
"Four- two- three- f*cking one"

I don't know. We played well tonight I thought, but the lack of a striker is absolutely killing us.

January recruitment was a head scratched for sure.

Arguably Fergusons greatest strength was the way he read games and how his subs can make a difference. Obviously he’s always had better options but that fella knew how to turn games around alright.

Fair point, but he never deviated from his 4-4-2.

Quite possibly Carrick has adopted this mindset, I don't know.

Today we just didn't have the players on the bench to come on and really affect the game.

Maybe not but I do think he should be trying little things. If it doesn’t come off then that’s fine we tried. But I can’t see how bringing Silvera on for Greenwood and Dijksteel on for Ayling as like for likes is a really a statement off we are gonna get back in this. It’s just a bit bland for me
