Maybe not but I do think he should be trying little things. If it doesn’t come off then that’s fine we tried. But I can’t see how bringing Silvera on for Greenwood and Dijksteel on for Ayling as like for likes is a really a statement off we are gonna get back in this. It’s just a bit bland for me

Sorry, I'm not defending Carrick and his in game management. I agree completely with mixing it up. Be bold....ish.

It's just there may be a conscious or subconscious belief that the system is the system and .....that's it. I don't know.

Frustrating for me is that we have the players to easily change the formation in game. 4-3-3. 4-1-3-2. But......

It's so weird tho because he seems intelligent and calm, him being stubborn doesn't seem like a trait he would have but what else could it possibly be

Tbf I reckon most managers are stubborn, not many will experiment and try out alternatives on matchday, especially in the league.

What do you expect when Woodgate is the sounding board for Carrick.

Carricks a big boy. The man with the plan why can't you say he is poor with his subs instead of trying to deflect the blame on to his coach.

He's still learning on the job but he's definitely got a great footballing brain, as can be seen from his playing career, and he's a great man manager, as can be seen from last season.
