IS COVID OVER

A figure I'd like to have seen was how many cup final ticket holders failed their Covid test and couldn't attend. They must have that info readily available.
Not sure of that but if the 300 or so booked to return from India to Australia only 150 were allowed as the rest failed their test so almost a 50% hi rate which if cross this over and you look at the 20,000 that arrived from India into the UK is worrying indeed

A cynic might suggest that the govt were never going to anger the Indian community a high % of which vote Tory before local elections. But maybe that was coincidence as well.

The government is hiding behind the data. It keeps saying it takes decisions based on the following of the data. The media just accepts that. The government is getting away with murder, literally. What they really mean is they are a reactive government, they are fighting fires and patting themselves on their backs. The only proactive measure mentioned is the vaccines.

They are not putting the effort into avoiding the fires starting in the first place sadly. Travel to India should have ceased far earlier for example, but they put a trade deal in front of the nations health and security. These types of decisions keep on being replicated all the while the virus is learning to evolve at a faster rate than our government sadly. Unfortunately the stupidity of some of our countrymen, women and two-spirited maveriques acting like covert petri dishes doesn’t help.

No doubt why Johnson delayed the decision to place India on the red list. Trade talks.
That’s actually been admitted. Not sure about the elections but the delay in reacting to the soaring infection rate in India was criminal based on other countries who had taken action.

Ask the BMA.
The BMA don't speak with a single voice. It's a trade union not a society for medical excellence. One doctor may well publish an opinion piece as they are permitted to do that. It doesn't mean the BMA are saying anything, it means one of their members are. Or to use your argument, utter nonsense.

Great argument, that's me convinced. If you can't engage sensibly and tell me why you think I am talking nonsense you're not really adding anything, are you?
Such a nonsensical post got the response it deserved. A better post would elicit a better response.

I’ve already offered my views on the implementation of restrictions and quite frankly I can’t be bothered to do it again.

The BMA's public health medicine committee co-chairman speaks for the BMA.

It’s not a difficult concept.

Good Lord!

I can’t be bothered with this nonsense any more.,,,
You can't be bothered because you are talking about something you clearly know nothing about. I worked for the BMA for 5 years. Their primary remit is to defend the pay and conditions of public health doctors. Secondly it is to promote public health as a speciality with a non medical route of entry. Finally it is to promote diversity in public health.

Members can and do publish opinion both medical and non medical. They are not the views of the organisation because they can't be. They are representatives of a profession they do not speak for them on medical matters. That's a fact, not my opinion.

And again your right you're done.

Do the BMA now believe the vaccines aren't working? You still haven't answered that question.
The BMA, like everyone else are waiting to see how effective the vaccines will be against the most concerning Indian variant.

He's had a shocker hasn't he?

The vaccines work against all variants.
