Is Tyson Fury the biggest fraud in boxing?

These fights sometimes take a lot of work behind the scenes to make, we are all desperate for the fight to happen but its not as simple as just agreeing a date, venue and putting pen to paper.
It can be done in ten days apparently.

Fighting Chisora was a joke but it was nothing more than a keep busy fight when there weren't many other options available.
There was options available, he just didn't want them. He wanted maximum pay for least amount of risk. If this is an approach you admire, that's up to you. Not something I respect personally.

The same as there was options available in January if the Usyk fight wasn't going to be made, but he's waited until Joyce has signed to fight Zhang and AJ has signed to fight Franklin. Ruiz/Wilder will be his only respectable alternatives to Usyk. We are more likely to see Ngannou in an exhibition fight.

He's obviously not going to get as much for Chisora as he would for fighting an elite fighter its pretty obvious why isn't it.
Yes it is, because no one wanted to see him fight Chisora. So why was he so quick to fight Chisora for £8m but won't fight Usyk for £30m?

At the time Fury fought Chisora the options were limited, I remember plenty of boxing writers saying the same. AJ wasn't ready, Usyk needed a break and everyone knew he had to keep busy with the Usyk fight hopefully on the horizon.

I didnt like the Chisora fight but there wasn't another big money fight available, hence why the purse was smaller than what we are talking about now for an Usyk fight.

From what I'm led to believe the sticking point now is the purse split not the overall purse which leads back to the point I made earlier.

I'm not Tyson Fury's number 1 fan, he is a walking contradiction sometimes but calling him a fraud is ridiculous. I hope the fight happens as they're both great fighters but I understand how the business works. Its depressing sport a lot of the time but stuff like this is a symptom of boxing's problems not the cause.

He wants to give Usyk 30% share on the Wembley fight. Its insulting. The man holds 3 belts and is unbeaten. He is ready to fight anyone. On what planet is he only worthy of 30%? Especially when the 50% purse is already a lot less than he had signed for in Saudi. The fact Fury couldn't agree a fee in Saudi. Usyk was adamant on 50/50 but has now counter offered 60/40 to the winner. If Fury is as good as he believes then a 60% split looks a good deal. Fury has rejected that offer.

Fury is dodging the fight. He knows there is no way Usyk is fighting for 30%.

And now we get to the point. "Big money fight." There was plenty of better fights out there. Hrgovic and Zhang both would have fought him in December. Joyce or Usyk would have fought in February but Fury was absolutely adamant he wanted the December date after sitting on the sofa for 6 months. What would another 2 months have harmed?

He's doing as little fighting as possible for as much money as possible and it's ruining the division.

Neither of them are big money fights if we are talking simply about money and neither would have been a big ppv seller to the casual boxing fan.

Chisora is a step down from those fighters in terms of quality, BUT perfectly acceptable as a tune up fight IF he fights Usyk next. Let's wait and see what happens.

You've obviously already made up your mind anyway so I don't think there's a debate to be had on the subject.

I'm a Fury fan but in fairness, I think there are some pro Fury minds made up here too. Compare Fury's treatment of AJ with the 10 days rubbish with his own months long delay and crazy demands to fight Usyk.

Seems like the fight will be officially declared as not taking place in the next few days.

There's rumours that Fury hasn't even been in training camp, so it will be interesting to see if his Wembley date still goes ahead.

Love or hate Eddie, and I'm probably somewhere middle, I think he's hit the nail on the head here.

The bloke is an absolute tool.
He must be de-valuing himself by the day. His reputation sky rocketed 12 months ago. He's literally losing thousands of fans a day at the moment.

You can see it all over social media.. 12 months ago 90% of the comments were pro Fury. After the AJ/Chisora debacle it reduced to around 50%. It must be around 10% now

To me Fury comes across as a loud mouthed bully. Like someone everyone avoided in the school playground except the one kid who wouldn't be pushed around. He towers above everyone else and uses this to try to intimidate people.

His most recent insta story just updated 10 mins ago is embarrassing..

Usyk will fight Hrgovic or Dubois for a lot less money than he could Fury for. Even with the 30% split. I think it's just the principle for Usyk. Why should he only get 30%?

Fury got away with the games with AJ debacle, but everyone is seeing straight through this one

I think a good part of the fesutrstion is Fury demanding that AJ signed a contract in 10 days, then tries humiliating him calling him scared, yet proceeds to spend months and months not finalising a fight with a Usyk.
And now he is giving similar ultimatums to USYK. I’ve defended fury before but I’m starting to see a pattern with him! Apparently the 30per cent he’s offering usyk goes down by one per cent per day until they sign!!!
