Is Tyson Fury the biggest fraud in boxing?

Fury wont live this down if he bottles it, especially after the way he went on about AJ bottling their fight.

Didn't he say he'd fight AJ for free at one point?
This is something he often changes his mind on. Could find countless articles where he has been quoted as saying its not about the money, would fight for free, he's already earned enough money to spend etc. Its all about legacy.

Then I could find countless articles where he claims he's a prizefighter and if they want him to fight then they need to pay him enough money etc.

He fought Chisora for about a quarter of what was being offered in the Middle East...

He must be an absolute nightmare to deal with. Both for his own management team and the opposition.

fury will beat him comfortably anyway
Its a really interesting fight. I think Usyk can beat him. It's 50/50 for me.

I think Usyk would have to be really convincing to get a decision and would struggle to knock Fury out. I think Fury would probably win a decision but it would be a close fight.

Shame there is such a height difference, I would love nothing more than to see Fury get schooled by Usyk but just can't see if as Fury is so much bigger and knows how to fight smaller men.

If Usyk was a couple of inches taller he would get to Fury more and likely out box him.

Fury doesn't want this... who's going to pay for Fury v Wilder 4?

I just feel for Usyk. A true champion. He's being robbed the chance to be only the second boxer in history to become undisputed at two different weight classes, and the first in the 4 Body era.

Big boxing fan, and read a lot of boxing blogs etc. Therefore get a lot of the updates on my social media. I post them on here as it's relevant. Don't read it if your not bothered.

I suspect the posters who defended the Chisora fight as being a tune up for Usyk fight are quickly realising they were conned (again). Not going to back track through the various posts but guessing you were one of them Uwe.

Not sure whether some people appreciate how big of an opportunity this is. An undisputed champion in any weight division is a massive achievement that very few boxers ever manage. In fact there's only ever been 8 undisputed champions across all the weight divisions since the 4th belt was recognised in 2007. And it truly is an elite list if fighters. The like of Mayweather, Pacquiou and Klitschko(s) never managed it. There's never been an undisputed heavyweight for something like 25 years when Lewis held it and then it was only 3 belts.

Fury isn't taking this fight for 1 of 2 reasons

A) he thinks there's a significant chance of being beaten and he would rather retire unbeaten than take the risk

B) he is so greedy that the £30 odd million he's being offered isn't enough which is by far his biggest payday to date. Rumours are the, offer on the table from the Saudis was less that AJ was paid and he didn't like it.

If he was truly a "fighting man" neither would stop him from taking this fight. The opportunity of going down in the history books as an undisputed heavyweight champion should be enough motivation to make this happen.

He fought Chisora for roughly a quarter of what he could make from this fight And I'm willing to take a bet with anyone that he fights another sub-standard opponent at the end of April for a similar fee. But apparently £30mil isn't enough to fight Usyk.

At the end of the day, as Warren has said, the fight is worth what it is worth. The Saudis made their offer and it wasn't enough for Fury. Warren has told him what the Wembley fight is worth (considerably less than Saudi) and he is offering Usyk not only an unfair split but an actually insulting split. This fight is dead and Fury has wasted the biggest opportunity he'll ever have of proving himself as "best of his generation". He has also took that opportunity from Usyk who has openly said he needs this fight. He's undisputed at cruiser weight and is looking to do it at heavyweight, the crown jewel. Never been done before.

Assuming the fight is dead, the undisputed fight won't happen between these fighters. Its not something that can be revisited. Usyk has 3 mandatories and will be on the clock. The sanctioning bodies have gave this window of opportunity and extended deadlines on mandatories. It is likely Usyk will end up vacating at least one belt by the end of the year.

It seems that Fury has a risk versus reward thing going on that is effectively pricing him out the Usyk fight. He obviously believes that usyk is so high risk he wants an amount of money that no one is willing to pay him. This should have been a very easy fight to make, but Fury has been stalling for 8 months.

I just think you need to calm down a bit, if Fury makes a fight against someone else then give him dogs abuse if you want but until then the Usyk fight isn't dead.

These fights sometimes take a lot of work behind the scenes to make, we are all desperate for the fight to happen but its not as simple as just agreeing a date, venue and putting pen to paper.

Making the fight is the start of the mind games leading up to the fight, both fighters always want to be the A side, first on the fight posters, last into the ring, biggest purse etc. It sounds silly to us but its the start of trying to get a psychological advantage and this has been going on for years, Fury isn't the first to do this.

This isn't the 70s where undisputed fights were easy to make and boxers fought every 3 months, the current generation are happy to box every 6-9 months and if a fight gets delayed by months of negotiations then they'll accept that.

Let's get one thing straight, none of these fighters at this level are scared of one another but they do like a pound note. Look at Floyd he took several fights on lower purses before he fought Pacquiao. Its a business decision and that's how they treat it. If Fury and Usyk box an average fighter next they still know the big fight is there for later in the year like Floyd did with Pacquiao.

Fighting Chisora was a joke but it was nothing more than a keep busy fight when there weren't many other options available. He's obviously not going to get as much for Chisora as he would for fighting an elite fighter its pretty obvious why isn't it.

I think a good part of the fesutrstion is Fury demanding that AJ signed a contract in 10 days, then tries humiliating him calling him scared, yet proceeds to spend months and months not finalising a fight with a Usyk.
