Isaiah Jones appreciation thread

Re watched the goals again this morning, wow. His tackle for the second goal and beautifully weighted pass into the box. This lad will have a premier league career that I have no doubt. Hopefully with the mighty Boro, he looks a superb wing back and will get better and better each game. Absolutely love the lad.
 
He's turning into an assist machine👏

The amount of balls he's plays in low and actually picks people out. He's got the parts that Traore simply never had (the closet I can think in terms of pace).

I think he's got a great little link up with Crooks. They combine so well with little give and goes. Just watch and you'll notice its usually Crooks who plays him in.

All I can say is thank god he signed a new deal. Sky and media outlets are giving him nothing but praise. I'm sure clubs are keeping an eye on him.

It also definitely throws an extra spanner into bringing Spence back. He simply isn't going to get a game (although decent back up).

We could play Spence on the other side.
 
I think Jones could be instrumental in convincing Spence to join the Wilder revolution.

If they are mates, I'll like to think Issy would have a quiet word with Djed and say something along the lines of "this role is perfect for both of us, I'm sure you'd slot in and all the top team teams have at least two great players for every position"

I'm sure Issy would appreciate the help as it would be a hell of an ask performing like he has been, week in, week out for the rest of this season's campaign.
 
Thank god we sniped a contract extension earlier in the season before he became well-known. He's class and everything good about us comes through that right hand side. Dijksteel, Crooks, Jones and Sporar.

A cracking 12 months, from making his debut in the 90th minute in January when coming on for Tavernier at Brentford in the FAC 2-1 defeat, he's just got better & better
 
Interesting thought of Spence on the left. Although Wilder was very quick to mention 'ballance' and having right footers on the right and vice versa (part of the reason he brought in Taylor).

I still think the best outcome for both parties is to sell Spence. Although I didn't initially realise that he can't play for another club other than us or Forest.

I wouldn't rule out moves for Chris Basham at Sheff UTD. Very much part of that overlapping defence and contract running down. A natural left footed CB who can play in a variety of positions.
 
Well Jones started the season on the left, didn't he?

I think he's probably a better crosser on his left too.

Spence on the right, Jones on the left?

I was confused myself watching Djed's last game playing for forest, on the right. I thought I was more used to seeing him on the left, but put it down to alzheimers.
 
It’s a no brainer to bring Spence back for me.

wing back is a position we’re short in, so why keep one of our own (very decent) ones out on loan at a rival?? Makes no sense.

doubt he’s on massive wages either.

As has been said above, would allow us to play Jones LWB if required, and would just give us a more balanced squad generally

He would rack up a lot of minutes in the 2nd half of the season for us
