It's healthy competition for places as well. Will keep Jones on his toes, knowing that if his form dips there's a chance he could lose his place in the team. Equally, when Spence gets the opportunity, even if it's coming off the bench, he'll be desperate to make an impression.

Traore was incredibly exciting to watch running with the ball but one of my big criticisms of him was that he didn't make runs in behind the defence. It used to frustrate me, as no defender would have been able to keep up with him, so he could have gotten in behind defences with ease if he'd made the runs.

Making runs in behind the defence is a bit part of Jones' game however. Both of Sporars' goals vs Forest and Blackpool came about after Jones had made a run in behind.

Totally agree.

Let's say his contract is 20k a week (I would be surprised if its anywhere near that sum) plus or including appearance fee.

Jan 1st to May 7th plus a week or so for any Wembley appearances 😁 = what? 18 or 19 weeks @ 20k = ~380k

I doubt Forest are paying his wages in full, so it should be a lot less than 380k to scupper Forest's threat to us.

I'd be very surprised if Forest weren't paying his wages in full. Especially now after the new deal.
Remember the lad was an outcast before Woodgate played him. We were about to release him on a free. If he's on more than 5-6k I'd be shocked.

Wow, what a fantastic attitude.

Seems totally assured he has loads more to give and looks genuinely disappointed he has only scored in his first game and got MOTM in the 2nd.

Laughed at the suggestion the tackles were too rough by saying he's used to it, coming from non-league.

We've got an absolute gem.
 
I know it has been picked up already but you can’t underestimate the contribution of Crooks to Jones’s performances this season. Crooks has been the perfect link up player for Jones. Most of the great stuff Jones has delivered has involved Crooks in some way. If we had anything remotely similar on the left side our forwards would be gobbling up chance after chance. Have to hope Crooks stays fit and ban free to keep the brilliant partnership together.
