For me we need to go and a get a decent left winger to compliment jones on the other side, O’Dowda at Cardiff would be my choice, I have always liked him.

Any rumours, in the know or just something you’d like to see in January!

it’s never too soon!! Keiran Scott spoke of long term options and was pretty open about speaking to young defenders and midfielders.

Zidane Iqbal, young midfielder from Man Utd has been mentioned

It's only a matter of time before are are heavily linked to various UTD U23s. We need to be careful as the large majority of these 'highly rated' or 'wonder kids' don't do that well when thrust into champo action.

I'm not sure we need any major surgery. I'd love us to sign Giles on a perm. I'm not sure what he's 'worth?'. I mean he's been on loan for the best part of 2 years. How much do they rate him? I imagine with all the loans he's had he'd want to settle somewhere.

I think they'll want a few quid for Giles, potentially putting him out of our reach. Granted, he's been on loan for a couple of seasons but that's primarily to get his price up. They might even fancy a look at him next season?

8-10 mil would be my guess.

Zach Steffen has been rumoured on a permanent deal also.. that would free up another space for a loan signing. Two loan signings maybe?

Squad numbers that are currently available are: 7,10.11,12 & 22

Kai Wagner 25yo German left back playing in MLS for Philadelphia Union is out of contract in December.. we've been linked with him.

Darnell Fisher has been linked with a move to Derby County - Jason Knight for them is out of contract in summer 22yo Irish midfielder
might be worth enquiring for Max Bird.. defensive midfielder looked pretty decent in the championship.

I'm really feeling League One this January window. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru 21yo midfielder is at Sheffield Wednesday.. ex Man City and he looks way too good for League One.. available to sign on a pre contract in January. It's a name i've pulled out of the bag, but he feels like a Keiron Scott signing to me.

Ronnie Edwards,19yo defender currently at Peterborough.. Jonathan Woodgate will no doubt be aware of this guy. 5'11 tho.. for a central defender? YERJOKINARNYA!!

Zak Williams 18yo welsh defender from Crewe Alexander looks smart.. left back/left of a back three at 6ft he reminds me of George Friend tbh

I liked what I saw of Sorba Thomas when we played Huddersfield, think he might cost a bit though, but 23, wide player, lives up north, ideal if the price was right.

That being said he will score a worldie this tonight and his price will triple.

Would like us to sign Steffan and have a settled goalkeeper.

I've advocated sending Hoppe on loan in the past but I don't think he will now. Putting him on away at Norwich with scores level, while Muniz sat on bench was a big statement of confidence from Carrick. I think he'll get more minutes for us 2nd half of season.

With Muniz, Giles, Steffen, Mowatt, I think we only have one loan spot left in the squad don't we? I think there's a rule that only allows 5 loans in the match day squad.

Wouldn't be too surprised if we sent Mowatt back to WBA or we try to sign one of Giles/Steffen on a permanent if we can.

You'd think Luongo will be released once his contract expires in January.

I don't think we'll be too busy in terms of incomings to be honest, maybe the one additional loan, probably from United. Zidane Iqbal.

Phil Jones on a free if he agrees to a mutual termination of his contract though..

plenty of positions we could improve and some players that need easing out. For me the weakest areas are thus:

1 - LB - Giles is weak defensively and Bola is a League One quality player, he's been at the club 3 years now, never really held his position, time to move on. We don't technically own a first team ready LB so I think this is a key one for us. It will also give us more options going forward with Giles able to play LW

2 - CB - McNair is an expensive player but isn't young enough to be a development player, and clearly isn't capable of challenging Fry and Lenihan. I'd look to sell and bring in a young talented player, preferably one with Pace

3 - CM - Hackney has done superb, but we have to expect peaks and troughs, Howson at his age as well, would be better served if he didn't have to play every game. Mowatt has been a flop, Luongo hasn't made an impact and Crooks is better higher up the pitch. I'd like to see us add a good technical central midfielder with a bit of vision

4 - Winger - we don't really have a pure winger, someone with a trick a cross and a goal threat

5 - CF - Not sure Muniz is working, I'd consider looking for another CF, pace and power and work rate are the key components. We could stumble on with Forss and Muniz as backup but I think we need another option
