January transfer window thread

Cameron Archer is through the doors (the striker from the midlands.

Sounds like Rodrigo Muniz maybe off to pastures new with Real Valladolid waiting to pounce.

Massimo Luongo made his was to Ipswich with a move for Dan Barlaser apparently agreed although dependant on Rotherham bringing in a replacement.

Matthew Hoppe is looking likely to be loaned out with a left sided attacker coming in.. I can’t see beyond Siriki Dembele from Bournemouth still but am happy to be told otherwise from som hot young ITK

A possible fourth signing I feel maybe linked to the rumours surrounding Paddy McNair. Again a replacement would be purely concocted from my own thoughts and speculation.. Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton is out of contract in the summer.

Still nothing linking us to Jason Knight at Derby which surprises me..

I think we may go for an upgrade to Barlaser , a big upgrade.
Hoppe will go on loan , and will be replaced with an upgrade.
Muniz will leave , Archer may be his replacement , maybe not .
Mcnair Will go , maybe in an exchange for a player MC wants.
Jones may go if a big bid comes in.
Rumoured injuries to Lenaghan , Clarke , Bola and Dijksteel means we will have to bring someone in , can't see Hall being the answer .
Plenty of life left in this window . A few twists maybe.

I suppose you never know, but he's linked with Burnley & Norwich, and the Mail had him linked to Dortmund I think. Knight is decent I suppose, would love Greaves, although I've not followed his form since he signed his new contract in August to be honest.

If Hoppe leaves on loan I think that will be the end of the business for strikers. Still a touch short for the three behind though.

I think 3-4 max now depending on outgoings - an AM/winger, CM, LB being the priority.

Do you not think Giles is nailed on to start there? Carrick has had Bola available at times and chosen Giles ahead of him.

If Clarke isn't going to be available for weeks and with Lenihan and Dijksteel injured currently, Bola coming off injured for the U-21's and McNair linked with a move away I assume we'll be looking for defensive cover in the centre. I don't really class McNair, Bola and Dijksteel as true centre backs in a 4.

He might be out of contract at the end of the season? I would rather we didn't as he's on a good wedge and has looked nowhere near what he was under Karanka since he left.

Don’t think MC will settle for mediocrity.
He will want to put his stamp on it , I expect a couple of WOW signings which will be capable of stepping up to the premier league IF we manage to get there .

I think Elanga is a pretty ‘Wow’ signing and if there was anything in the Jon Paul Van Hecke link which I made up myself.. then I think he could step back up to the prem.

Celtic are no longer the pull that they once were, when Rangers went bust I think they had a real opportunity to sort out SPL1 and SPL2.. unfortunately too many owners would rather cut off their nose to spite their face.

Still.. looks like we might face stiff competition for this Ardon!
