Yes. People are sick of the Tories and want a change. They will vote for the party that gives them a change and that will be Labour. Literally any version of Labour will beat the current Tories. I've yet to meet anyone that is going to vote for Labour because of something they will do rather than just to get the Tories out. Compare that to Corbyn where people genuinely wanted what he was offering. Plenty of people didn't, obviously, but Starmer is offering no reason to vote for him other than because he's an alternative to the Tories. Sadly he's only an alternative on the outside. It's clear to see that he offers nothing but being a more competent version of the Tories.

I think you are wrong.

I know plenty of people who will vote Tory because they are the blue side and Labour at the end of the day are just a bunch of communists who want to take the last penny out of their pockets to support immigrants and woke minority groups.

Starmer has said plenty but the constant right wing media drip is that he is not offering anything other than Tory Lite, the inference of course being you might as well have the real thing and vote for Rishi despite him being a crook. Oh and don‘t forget he caused the post office scandal.

And, like the hatchet job the hard right did on Corbyn, it’s already working with a lot more to come.

I'll be voting Labour not because of Starmer, the local candidate or because I have much belief in the party. I'll be voting Labour because its the only sure fire way of getting the Tories out. I suspect many people will be the same.

Do I expect things to change for the better in the short term with labour? No not really.

This is the bleak truth isn't it. I'm not a lefty so I'm bot one to judge but reading the true socialists on here there is pretty much zero faith in Starmer. The only thing I would say is that, as Uwe says, getting the Tories out is the only thing we should concentrate on. You can't recover from a cancer until you remove the cancer

This is literally Starmers entire leadership tenure to date. He's going to win by a landslide and yet nobody wants to vote for him, they are just voting against the Tories.

I want to vote for him.

I can't wait for a principled decent- boring, if you like, person running our government. Starmer fully understands that the gap between the rich and the poor has hugely widened and needs reversing, he will go about closing the gap as quickly as possible while not doing shock damage to the economy

Yes there are socialists on here and I don't hate Starmer. I just don't particularly like the direction the Party is going at the moment. Having said that, you know which way I'll be voting already.

I’m Stockton south I’ve previously voted Labour because I couldn’t stand James Wharton, last time I voted Tory cos I couldn’t face Corbyn being PM. I’ll probably stay at home this time.

I'd guess everyone on here is at least a little bit socialist, even if they don't realise it. I've never seen anyone advocating on here for privatising the fire brigade or the army, navy, and air force, or the police.
