Latte Lath

Hard to see him as a 1 in 2 striker. That would be 20+ goals a full Championship season. He had one really good season in the Swiss super league last season but that league is rated below the Championship and even the Scottish Premiership. St. Gallen are probably the equivalent of Aberdeen, a long way behind the runaway dominant team of Young Boys.

Doesn't mean he can't come good but this season has been a wash out for him.

What does he bring to the table - he has a turn of pace but I’m not seeing much else. He was poor again yesterday, doesn’t seem able to hold the ball up or bring anyone else into play, poor first touch, and doesn’t look like a natural goal scorer to me. When he signed i looked at his playing record and thought that doesn’t look like a player we should be shelling circa £5m on.
Am i missing something with this lad because right now it’s looks like Atalanta must be laughing down their sleeves
Errrrrr
Hasn’t played for how many games - Carrick wanted him to get 90 minutes of match fitness
Get off his back jeez!

If we set up with Azaz as a 10 and Lath up front, and give them a run of games playing together in those positions then I think Lath would be a lot more effective.

Azaz loves a through ball and Lath loves to make those runs in behind.

As soon as Lath comes back into the side however, Carrick decides to drop Azaz. It doesn't make sense.

I'd prefer to see us with wingbacks and Latte Lath playing off Coburn. Azaz as the attacking minded central midfielder and whoever else happens to be fit in the other two CM spots, preferably Howson and Hackney.

Without a front man as a focal point , and a front four that retain the ball ..
It's pointless thinking about top six . Ever .
We're not athletic enough/ physical enough to fill the huge gaps , and are week as pizz with anything with our back to their back 4 and 2 in front.
Every team in the top four has , for years , had a focal point up top.
We've two in our squad that are awful to play against, and retain the ball.
Coburn and Jones.
Out of seven or eight.

I'd like that as well.

He doesn’t need to be, Adam Armstrong is likely to be the only 20+ goal striker in the championship this season. Which means at least 2 promoted teams will not have a 20+ goal striker

That’s 5 goals from his 12 league starts now. And all of them against teams in the top 7 📈

A goal every 193 mins in the league / 188 mins across all comps.
There's definite potential in him at this level, if he can improve his first touch and 1-vs-1s and stay fit, then he could certainly get north of 18 league goals in a full season.

almost exclusively scoring againt the top sides.....he's like the polar opposite of Britt Assombalonga, who only scored in one game against top 6 sides in 4 years.

It will be fun watching him develop. He is still quite young, 23 I think.

His finishing is quite good but as someone said his one on ones leave a bit too be desired.

I don’t think we’ve paid £4-5m for a young striker just to write him off after one injury plagued season. He’ll probably still end up into double figures despite missing half of it.

I hope he gets a good run for the rest of the season now (not that we have anyone else!)

If our playoff are completely and finally put to bed in the next few games and we seem safe I would like Carrick to use the remainder of the season experimenting with different formations and set ups , obviously when Josh comes back it would be good to see him and LL develop some understanding of each others positional play by being paired together, and some of the youngsters should be used to motivate them for next season, so I rather our season didn't come to an end in March, it can still be a big positive for next season.

total appearances means nothing ... lets see the goals per minute
i remember nemeth had an awful goals per appearence because he was always a sub but his goal per minute was nearly the best in the prem

For his goal last night, was it a genius touch and move opening his body out to prod into the corner, or poor control and he got lucky? Seemed the way the ball came to him it might have been tricky to get the flight of it like.

I like him. He possesses a lot of pace, which is the biggest worry for defenders.

This first season should give him so much confidence, knowledge and experience for next season.

Moving countries at his age, to a brand new team, club will always mean there's a 'bedding' in period.

I fully back him to do well next season.

We still need another striker as we are so threadbare with options up front, but I'm happy for Latte to lead the line next season
