Lewis Wing

to have a full understanding of a players ability, you have to analyse what they contribute in all 4 phases of the match and Wing is poor when we are out of possession and a negative turnover. That is unquestionable and why he isn't really good enough for the top half.
Statistically it is questionable. There was one goal that came from a rebound off him, went back to the player who crossed for poor defensive mistake and a goal. Howson, Morsy and Saville have more directly given away goals

statistically understanding contribution out of possession is very difficult

Played every game since he joined. Birmingham on Thursday seems to be why they've rested a few players.

Ah yeah, hadn't noticed they were playing 2 games in 2 days, that's fair enough.

That is a massive, massive 6 pointer for them.
Coventry will have had more rest too.

They've just equalised against QPR! 🙌
Would love them to stay up.

Wing - does he get in the team regularly over Tavernier, Howson, Morsy and Saville? I'm not sure he would have this season. He needed game time and consistency.. He's now getting that at Rotherham. It might be over the summer we take a look at him and he does fit in the team on a regular basis. But we couldn't have kept hold of him knowing he needed games to improve and expect him to come in and do a job as and when required. in a role picked out of the air.

I think the loan spell has been the best for club and player. The same with Wood.. he might have to go out again next season for much of the same.

Wing assist for Rotherham's equaliser and they've now taken the lead!

Steve McQueen must be around, because the Great Escape is on.

He may have turned the match for a poor team but has he ever turned a match for us ?
Another mediocre player who will make a living in the game but in a team challenging for promotion to the Premier League and then playing at that level ?
I don't think so.
Nice lad and a tryer but can't tackle , can't defend and runs like a crab.

QPR are a decent mid table champo team. Turning the match in a poor team is not bad going in my book.

I don’t think Lewis Wing is mediocre, I think he suffers from inconsistency on his day he is amongst the best in the league.. there I said it.

How much 'better' are we? Also that poor team pumped us at the Riverside😉

Could do this for every player in the squad though couldn't you.

Drop Fry, nice lad and a tryer but can't shoot or do stepovers.

As I said earlier in the thread, in any team game it's perfectly normal to have different players contribute in different ways.
