Line of duty - poor ending indeed

That's the main problem with it all though.

It's been marketed and heavily promoted as the final episode and final reveal.
It clearly was not.

It's almost definitely coming back, and the anger and disappointment will subside when there's actually something more interesting at the end of the line than incompetent guy falls upwards in a life of crime and is only caught out by poor spelling.
It might be more realistic for the grand conspiracy to be a fairly amateur outfit, but it's far less entertaining.

Hopefully they'll improve some of the cringeworthy and irritating dialogue when they come back. Sick of "no comment" and Arnott and Fleming calling each other "mate" every 5 seconds.
I was gonna mention the “mate” thing. It’s so cringy 🙂 it sounds so forced. If someone ends their comment with “mate” rarely does the person end their reply with “mate” as well.

Except in greeting “now mate” “alright mate”.

Other than that I think it’s great entertainment. There has been some great characters in it with Hastings top of the bill.

People are quick to criticise but it’s been one of the best things on Terrestrial TV I’ve seen ins while.

And that's why so many are talking about it in here, they've loved it but wanted the real 'baddy' to be caught.

Mercurio reflected life's reality rather than a fairytale ending to the series.

And they'll all watch the next series, it's decent TV.

I watched it over 2 days and quite enjoyed it. Not disappointed and clearly the "boss" is in the wind for another season.

Who forged Kate's signature?
I posted this on the other thread;

I think OCG got to Buckle in prison. They killed Lakewell in front of him. Told him to be the fall guy.
Knowing that Ted was on his way out, he would retire happy and not continue to pursue H.
The misspellings were planted, by the same person who forged Flemings signature on the transfer request for Davidson. Probably Chole.
The fourth man continues to hide amongst them.
Either that, or the writer learnt they weren't commissioning another series and thought, sod that, I will wrap this up quickly and pin the whole series on the worst actor

The bumbling inept idiot who rises to the top on the back of sleaze and corruption represents Boris Johnson. The powerful and dangerous OCG in the background pulling his strings is ERG.
