Local elections TODAY

I’ll be voting Tory.
Given I’m not a billionaire, it must be because I’m an ignorant, naive, selfish, gullible, ill-informed, Express/Mail/Sun reading manipulated moron who doesn’t understand politics or the true cost of the damage voting blue has done to the future of our country. 👍
Up the toffs!

* our local election was done last year. I voted green and she won 👍

Handed in my postal vote yesterday at the North Tyneside Council office. Labour, always.

Get out and vote!
Take a photograph with you
and any other hoops
the b***ds make you jump through.

Get out and vote
to take their power away,
kick them out of the town halls
and then Westminster too.

This is your window,
your slimmest of chances
to rid us all of these parasites,
these liars and chancers.

Take control of your life,
use your cross like a knife
to puncture their boat.
Get out and vote!

I’ll be voting for my local independent group, they do a good job and I can’t bring myself to vote for the red or blue Tories.

Does voting for a local counsellor change anything in the grand scheme of things? When we have a Tory government who are destroying the country I don't see how voting in local council elections will change anything.

The general election will be a different matter of course.

If they lose massive amounts of council seats, it creates unrest in the tory party, ergo more in-fighting, more nastiness and finally sets up the GE nicely. In other words, it creates momentum.

Fair enough, I looked on the website which suggests who to vote for to get the Tories out and I think its independent vs independent anyway so my vote probably matters a lot less.

Im in TS6, had a ginger girl from labour come round the other day. I said I know its only council elections but this sends a message etc. I then said im struggling to like any of them at the minute its like avoiding a puddle to stand in dog ****.

Anyway I voted for her and the other labour candidate for actually listening. None of the rest of them bothered

Wife just had a lovely WhatsApp from her old Uni colleagues group.

Go out. Fight the good fight. Vote!! “May the Fourth be with us”

Voted for all three Labour candidates in Coulby. I would have anyway, but they've been the most proactive ones with leaflets and knocking at the door asking if there were any issues I'd like to discuss.

For those of you who think the current Labour Party is no different to the Tories, you said that about the Blair/Brown one too.

If you think all this is remotely similar to what the Tories deliver you need a crash course in logic, reasoning and judgement.
