Luton Away next

Could be, I do wonder if nerves are getting to them, I watched the highlights of their game last night and they weren't great. But the play-off's are a whole other ball game. Be interesting to see how we do Monday night. Especially with the additional injuries.

People last night saying that Jones changed the game, and he did, but when listening to Carrick after the match, he said they were enforced changes due to injuries to Smith and Forss, so it didn't seem like his plan was to play Jones if he didn't have to. However, based on last nights performance, he deserves more game time.

I will put my mortgage and all of your mortgages on a draw either 0 0 or 11 for that match
No injuries needed ...a point is sufficient for both teams...
5/2....seems decent price.

Would you make wholesale changes for this game or play our strongest team? I seem to remember us playing Norwich off the park for 20 to 30 mins in the 1-0 at their place which gave them an insight into our game and they reacted differently to it in the play off final.

I have always thought you should play your strongest team but not sure about this game.

Carrick was pressed on this during his interview and wouldn't give anything away.

Neither team needs anything from the game. It's effectively a dead rubber.

I wouldn't risk anyone with niggles and knocks. Jones and Djikesteel start. I'd rest Howson and play Barlaser. Maybe rest Chuba so they don't get a first hand look at him.

I've see Luton live 7 or 8 times this season, to give credit to Edwards he's really changed the way they play, alot more possesion based, but kept the resilience & team ethic which was their big strength they had under Jones. However it would be a travesty if they finish above Boro, they're not a patch on us, struggle to score goals and play a lot of backwards & sideways 'nothing' possession. They're a bit like us under Karanka, but without the attacking flair. I'd be more than comfortable getting them in the play off's at any stage, we would play them off the park

On the other hand why not try and defeat Luton. It is going to help our confidence and momentum and damage Luton"s

I was toying with the idea of resting a few players for this, but now I'm thinking more along the lines of play our best team, get into them, put a few past them and really put a marker down. They are 18 games unbeaten I think, what a statement it would be to go there and blitz them like we did Sheff United.

Lets not pretend that beating Luton is a bad thing.

If Norwich had beaten us in that match under Karanka, they'd have went up automatically, and we'd probably have been discussing what went wrong against Watford in the final.

The only bad thing to come from that win over Norwich were the injuries.

They beat us in the final because our key player was injured, we'd lost players because of loan spells ending and our bus got stuck in traffic.
Not because we beat Norwich 1-0 over a month before.

Not for me, I am content finishing 4th if we can

Steffen
Dijksteel
McNair if fit or Fry if fit
Lenihan
Bola
Hackney
Mowatt
Jones
Barlaser
Forss
Crooks

I don't want innocuous injuries (or deliberate) to any of our star players (remember Norwich and Bamford). It would be all to easy to leave one on Archer, Akpomb etc. It also gives a run out for some having little game time. I really don’t think it matters beating Luton, I’d far sooner do it at Wembley with our stars fit and with VAR than at Kenilworth Rd with a homer ref, no VAR, and some Luton defender putting in a tackle that causes Archer Akpomb or anyone then to be missing the play offs.

It is about the bigger picture for me.

In an ideal world i'd agree but we're no where close to full strength so what's the point in giving them a look (and a kick) first hand.

Play to win.
Mindful of injuries and those recovering from knocks.
All of this squad are good enough to replace each other in whatever combination Carrick chooses.
There`s no doubt we can produce a team capable of getting us beyond the play-offs and win at Wembley
