Bottled it tonight.
For Sunderland fans... Wyke is no Dennis Tueart and Burge is no Jim Montgomery.I know it's all about opinions but.....
Their fans have had nothing good to say about Wyke or their keeper (Burge).
Yet Wyke has 30 goals and Burge was in the Division 1 'team of the season'.
I just hope our analytical team digs down a bit before they start signing players that sound 'good on paper'.
Looks like rumours we were after their keeper have been quashed with the signing of Lumley
Its when you look at Sunderland , Wednesday , Bolton and Derby you realise how lucky we are to have Gibbo . Like anyone human he has made mistakes but blimey the man is a solid reliable guardian of our club and it’s nameYes been on there and basically it’s full of comments you would expect our messageboard to look like if we put in such a performance. Probably mirrors the one after the Villa play off game.
Anyway comments about poor recruitment, poor attitude, poor strike force etc etc. It’s all depressingly familiar stuff. Could be us in a few year time. That’s the stark reality.
Never understood this, surely you want to be involved in games vs Newcastle and Sunderland. There’s just something about Derby games that have that something extra. Its ok fella, whatever turns you on.
Just as it is ok to be delighted they lost tonight, hope they lose the second leg and then get relegated next season.
You mean like ‘Jimmy Saville he’s one of your own’We have our fair share of knuckle draggers too sadly who I imagine would be the same if roles reversed
Sunderland is NOT a derby game - in their eyes. There has been countless threads on their board- normally generating dozens and dozens of posts- at pains to point this out. The empty heads thinks we are mortally wounded by such accusations and claims.Never understood this, surely you want to be involved in games vs Newcastle and Sunderland. It’s a derby, everyone but Sunderland fans describe it so. For Middlesbrough fans games such as Leeds Newcastle and Sunderland there’s that extra something. Indeed, but we have no control over whether it happens or not and I'm not about to extend my desire to play them to wanting them to win. Instead I shall enjoy some schadenfreude with my toast and marmalade this morning. You should try it, it's yummy.Surely these are the games we want to be involved in
Looking at their board they don't rate any of their players yet they managed to finish 4th.I know it's all about opinions but.....

I would prefer Sunderland, boro, Leeds, Newcastle, the two Sheffield clubs and Huddersfield on in the premier league at the same time.Is it ok if I don't hate Sunderland fans? And don't celebrate their misery? They're just a bunch of folks supporting their local club, just like we do.
Yes very lucky to have gone from the premier league to a bang average championship team that’s completely skint in five years, mainly due to his bad decisions. Its when you look at Sunderland , Wednesday , Bolton and Derby you realise how lucky we are to have Gibbo . Like anyone human he has made mistakes but blimey the man is a solid reliable guardian of our club and it’s name
They’ve been about the same as us in the league. Finished 7th I believe, which is about in par with usIn the modern game, they are pretty much where they belong. In the last 64 years they've spent more than half outside the top flight. Even when they have been in teh top flight they've been a very dour team. As a club they are now a bottom end champo, top end league one club.
If they carry on being so badly run they'll have their rivalry with Hartlepool .
Agreed, I'd say if anything slightly below, both teams have been badly run but lets not forget Sunderland were one of the absolute giants of the game, They were top flight for the first 68 years until their first relegation, winning the league 6 times nobody had more championship than Sunderland at that time. They’ve been about the same as us in the league. They're like two different clubs the first half was a giant of the game, the second half a giant joke.
Even in the modern era of foreign stars, I can't think of many players that I would have got excited about signing for us. They've had no Juninho's, Boksics, Vidukas, no players that a neutral can say, 'what a player, I'd pay to go watch him alone'. They haven't even had any Geremi, Ziege, Ricard level of players
