Ridiculous.
How embarrassing for the lad (whilst noting that I haven't a scooby what he wrote)
Anyone clued up as to what the punishment might be?

At a Club level - this had to be in the left back spot didn't it

Who the hell went through his social media posts from when he was 14 FFS.

can’t see any charge or punishment sticking due to his age at the time and the fact it’s historic. I guess the FA just have to be seen doing something.

as for the complainant… they really need to get a life

You can only assume that given he now plays professional football he should have gone back through his social media and removed any posts that break fa rules. That's the only thing you can surmise from this.

An email to ask him to remove it would have done and there is something inherently invasive that the fa feel is OK to trawl a14 year olds messages. It just doesn't sit right with me.

Btw what today’s woke world sees a scandalous comment was prob every day use 20 years ago.

esp homophobic comments.

non binary didn’t exist then for one

So where do you draw the line.

I'm also disturbed at who was looking back through a child's social media.

Yes must do.

this really is pathetic isn’t it.
One post about your woke obsession is sufficient. We get it. You are oppressed by it. Before you heard of woke, which sounds like you don't know what it means, was political correctness gone mad blamed? Probably.

As for the main content of the opening post, without speaking like a tent-a-gob RCP/Spiked charlatan, what Bola said as a 14 year old shouldn't be used against him as an adult. If he said it 4 years ago, FA may have grounds as he is no longer a silly teenager taunting people. Although I didn't use racist remarks at 14, I did make homophobic ones. But I learned. Finding out about Section 28 and musicians and writers I liked were gay helped me. As did my hippy mother who told me why it was wrong, like she did about causal racist terms I used when my family lived in Middlesbrough before we moved to London just as I turned 14 in1987. Such a change helped when my brother came out as gay himself later.

Based soley on what we dont know and reading the deckchairs comments - I can only agree that dragging up a young teenagers posts - 9 years later - is pathetic.
Its like grown men looking through the pages of a schoolboys diary...

It's very upsetting but it's also what we've bought into with social media-- goodness knows where we'll be in 5 years time-- all robots, conditioned for those in higher authority who want a nodding, or even bowing-head society.
