I think he’s more someone who gets involved further up but is physical. Soucek, Fellaini type player

1 in 6 goal scorer over his career. 7 goals last season. Sounds too good for us.

With them stats I am confident he’s the type of player I am suggesting, cheers bear

I have said previously that when we were linked with Smith from Rotherham if I was to sign 1 Rotherham player it would be Crooks. I think this could be a great bargain basement type signing

It was him, but I dont think hes a defensive midfielder, he can chip in with a few goals.

Maybe this is a 'swap' type deal with Wing.

looks like he has experience at CDM, CM,and ST. He's a further forward version of Paddy

Personally, for the money involved, I think he's better value for money than Saville.

He's a proper utility player, look at his positions on transfermrkt, he's played everywhere except FB and GK but number 8 and CDM seem his preferred roles

Most of the games I saw with him last season, he was their most forward player, effectively a striker with Smith out wide right. I'm surprised Smith got so many goals from where he played.

@bear66 I think that's the "second striker" bit, Smith moves wide to drag a CB and create space for Crooks to break into.
