We have been linked. I think the issue is fee as only one year left on contract. The gist seems to be around 1mil (ish).

We may have bid. The Rotherham gaffer was moaning that clubs had made cheeky bids for players that are taking the p*ss

He mentioned a £250k bid for Smith (when he was looking for closer to £1m)

Maybe we are hoping that if we get promoted, we can match that contract?!

I’m sure we would at least come close, but that’s at least a year down the line and not likely to happen. If a Premier League club takes him this year, he gets that increase now. If he waits until he’s out of contract at the end of the season, he can then decide where to go.
