I love America, many American things and all the Americans I know personally.
But though I think it's better from a footballing perspective, I don't think the idea that morally or socially it's a more positive thing because of the actions of the Saudi state in contrast to the US government stands up at all.
I personally think the actions of the US government and state have been far, far more damaging and reprehensible than those of the Saudi Government.
The killing of half a million civilians in illegal unnecessary wars fought on completely spurious basis.
The use of White Phosprous a chemical weapon in Iraq, which is a war crime.
State sponsored use of torture.
Illegal imprisonment without charges in Guantanamo bay.
Racist armed police force which routinely murders Black and Hispanic citizens.
An epidemic out of control gun culture, which the US government steadfastly resists any attempt to change.
The election of a racist, misogynistic, narcissistic nut job, who boasted on camera about sexually assaulting women.
Massive contributors to global pollution, whilst stubbornly refusing to sign up to protocols which would decrease the damage it is doing.
I don't have any problems with people wanting to work or do business in the US. Many countries in the world do things which are terrible, including ours, but I also apply that principle to Saudi Arabia and any other Middle eastern Islamic country.
