MICHAEL HOLDING DECIDES TO CALL IT A DAY

He has been a brilliant commentator and the experience he's shared has been brilliant.

He's taught the viewers and listeners so much, not only about cricket, but about life.

He is definitely leaving some big shoes to fill.

Really smart fella, and has excellent knowledge and reasoning on many subjects, not just cricket, his commentary was a pleasure.

It seems they often get it right with cricket commentators, and they have by far the most difficult commentary job with it being quite a slow/ long game.

Compare that to how bad some football commentators are, and how boring the golf commentary is etc.

The other day I was listening to talksport my sporting life which is always a good listen with the excellent Danny Kelly and the show was on and featured holding. What an astounding sportsman and human being this fella is. I am to young to remember him as a player but his insight into sport and cricket was fantastic. Compare that to 70s and 80s aus teams who full of the worst sportsmanship.
