Mood tomorrow ???

It’s been a while since we’ve had a home game like this one, on a record run of no wins into the season that promised so much, and one of the ex prem big boys rocking up to provide arguably our biggest test of the season this far.

So what are expecting the mood in the stands to be as it could be pretty toxic.
'promised so much'

After the loan players going back and the Akpom sale it promised little though it has been disappointing with some strange team selections.

I think the mood is much worse than this message board. Most posters on this board are sebsible(ish) people. Yes we have both ends of the spectrum in terms of glass being empty and glasses overflowing but I would like to think the posters on this board aren't the type of people who hurl abuse at players etc.

When you read facebook/twitter there are far more extreme and abusive posts than what you see on this board.

When you throw alcohol/cocaine infused d1ckheads into the mix which are inevitable at the Boro, the mood will be far worse than you see on here. The south stand will do their best but they were subdued by the time the second half came against QPR as well.

If we concede first on Saturday, it won't be nice
Exactly this

That was my point

I'm only ever nervous when we are a good team, unless at the end of the season we are in relegation battle. I'm very indifferent about tomorrow as my expectations are that we will lose. If we win it will be fantastic but unlikely.

There is only one real occasion when I can remember it kicking off . 93-94, Lennie's final season it broke into pro/anti Lennie factions. There were some proper heated arguments in the Holgate.......but as there was 20-30 ft between the various groups it stayed at verbals.

Been in the West Upper when some of the tutting and disapproving head shakes were pretty bad.

This will be the first match I will have missed this season. So its bound to be a fantastic game with Boro winning 5:0.

I just said something in another thread that should probably have been posted here instead.

As fans, we have absolutely nothing to gain from doing anything other than getting behind the team. Windows closed, season is under way.... Booing or creating a toxic atmosphere has no benefit.
Tell some of those who sit behind me in row 12 north stand. Do nowt but moan and criticise. Seem to think all our players are shoite. Don’t know why they bother attending if it’s that bad

You missed out on the start of the 82/83 season then.
Now that was toxic.
After relegation we had hoped to bounce straight back up, but started with 3 successive 4-1 home defeats.
Looking back, the abuse Bobby Murdoch got was shameful. Personal and nasty.
Yes, that was a nightmare start.
One of the popular chants being “you’re going to get your f* heads kicked in”, left one wondering, if they meant the opposition, the management, or indeed themselves!

It was my 1st fùll seaon attending & the chants of "Sack the fat man" after the 1-4 home defeat by Grimsby that did for him saddened me! Wasn't his fault! Hankin sent off on debut too IIRC!🙈😰

as already mentioned it was a brutal start to the season lost our first 3 home games 1 - 4 to Burnley , Grimsby and Fulham also lost 1- 5 to Blackburn in November took us 11 games to get a victory remember all the games apart from Fulham for some reason. So it might be grim now but it could be worse

There was a guy behind me at Sheff Wed who spent the first 10 minutes slagging off Engels (not entirely unjustified, to be fair), then shouted "I've ****ing had enough of this", stormed off to the concourse, didn't return until about 75 minutes and then carried on screaming abuse at the team.

Still, it's good to have a hobby.
