Mr Preston is standing again!

Only one manifesto should be scrutinised, and that’s Andy Preston’s from 2019:

For some reason I can’t find it……

He said he was going to clean up Cleveland police, it’s still the worst in country

He said he’d set them targets, not heard anyone mention any targets he’s set

He said he wanted orchards so kids could pick fruit…….

He promised 1000 new homes in the town centre. Can’t find how many has been built. Only him banging on about 174 in Gresham

He said he would visit 200 sports club over 4 years to promote healthier living. Can anyone verify that? Children with 100% attendance get free access to council stuff. Not heard anything about that

He said all money from the council would be spent locally. Can this be verified?

He said he would end town hall secrecy, if anything it seems to have got worse.

So a man who pledged a lot, but barely delivered on any of it from what I can see. You can see why his manifesto isn’t easy to find…..

No, he was quite excited about the development. He's made a few bob out of it.

The penny arcade is my description of it. Let's see how it goes, long term.
Are you expecting it to go different to any of their other successful developments?

If Teesside park didn't exist people wouldn't still be shopping at a little comet in boro town centre, they'd just be driving to other retail parks not in the local area, or online.

Keep hearing how Labour has served the area so badly, yet after 4 years of Preston and his 'independents' I've never seen Middlesbrough in such a bad state.
This is the same at national level. The country has hit the skids after prolonged Tory government yet Labour are somehow still blamed for it. Incredible really that anyone believes the guff put out by the media when they can pop outside and have a look for themselves

Ditto for Middlesbrough under Preston.

I don't think that would be the case at all. The shops would still be in town centres without the Teesside Park and similar developments.

🤣🤣🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 when evidence presented start with the deflection

Classic

I won't be there despite having my ST as I'm on my way back from a family trip to Scotland.

I'm sure @exiledinboro will delight in that, once he's finished looking up his posts of me bullying Erimus. Not that he'll find any of course, though he's clearly not big enough to admit he's mixed me up with another poster.

Course they would, and mams would still be pushing those little shopping trolleys after them and everyone would get the bus to town instead of driving.

If I'm going clothes or appliance shopping, I'm never going to go round little shops in a town centre like boro. Online every time, or at least a larger store with a better range, and free parking to boot.

I avoid them at all costs - completely soulless.
If you did a family fortunes style survey on what people want out of a shop I'd imagine the shop or shopping area having a soul would get the buzzer X noise. People want quick to get to, large amounts of choice, facilities for the kids, decent prices and not paying £4 for a couple of hours for the car.

I wouldn't say boro town centre is exactly filled with soul anyway. Drugs, crime and pizza shops maybe but not soul.

Certainly true of Middlesbrough. I do enjoy a day out in Newcastle though.
