Would you prefer us to field our best 11, and then potentially get a huge injury like Spain did with Gavi?

The only thing I agree with is Maguire. He shouldn't be in the squad, let alone picking up caps. There are many better English CB's available than him.

Point I was trying to make is the players, Malta had a guy from notts county playing for them?
One of North Macedonia subs doesn't even have a club......you see my point ??

Not really. If only football was so simple. We see shocks happen every season in one off games. No lower league team should ever beat a Premier League side but it happens.

Not at all but how about picking some players a chance who are actually playing and on form.
Instead of playing his favourites and guys out of Thier favoured position. Might work ?
 
Just checked the laws on the Lewis pen. Nothing seems to leap out to me. Arguably could be classed as "recklessly striking" but I'm pretty sure "strike" would normally mean with much greater force than he applied!
