On way back from Stoke

It’s barely even 12 months, even two months ago I was full of optimism.

In hindsight I kind of wish we hadn’t beaten Chelsea. The second leg has absolutely decimated an already fragile confidence.
I also think the cup has paved as a smoke screen for what where already bad performance week in week out.

Raising your game a player for Chelsea or Villa is easy but maintaining that level and putting teams to the sword especially at home is what top professionals do and sadly most of our current squad isn't upto that level just yet.

Every player is accountable too as none of them ha e performed consistently to the levels they have set themselves!

We won’t go down, all of the teams below us won’t pick up enough points but it is a little bit too close for comfort.

It just highlights what has been an absolute disaster of a season though. So much gone wrong from top to bottom and Gibson, Bausor, Scott and Carrick all need to take stock. We are in a much worse position than we were 7 months ago. The squad is so disjointed and lacking of leadership, quality and experience.

Diego....I agree..

I think we will be In league 1 next season....can't belive I'm even saying that but we need an overhaul

I remember coming away from the QPR game with my mates not long into the season and us all agreeing we were in big trouble if performances didn't improve.

Alot of time/games have past since then but we have gone full circle. We were discussing the possibilty of relegation even back then asking which 3 teams were poorer than us ...

But highly unlikely and you know that.

Injuries have hurt us but Carrick must be pragmatic and play a system that suits the players he has available
If he doesn’t he is a fool and deserves all he gets…

We won’t go down but can’t see us finishing above 17th which is a really poor season.

TBF we play 5 of the teams below us in our next 7 games, this will show us what the team is made of as all these teams will fancy there chance against us but we also know on our day we can beat anyone too!
That last statement is not true with the current players available.

Yep. Don’t know why I bothered. Still hurts when it happens and you’re just not seeing the effort from certain individuals. It’s a hard team to like Sadly
We’ve got tickets for QPR. I really hope Carrick has a serious rethink about how he’s setting up the team otherwise I will be having similar feelings come next Saturday.

Don't count on teams being worse than us. We are averaging 1pt per game over the last 8. We've picked up 3 pts in the last 4. Our form is on a downward trend that needs arresting now otherwise we will be in big trouble when we come to the end of the season and are playing teams with things to play for at either end of the table.

I'm not sure it was a smoke screen. Earlier in the season we were losing games we should have been winning. We were missing chances and gifting goals.

The performance today and last Saturday was so much worse. We don't look like creating anything currently.

Spot on

2016-2017 Blackburn got relegated with 51 points, it's very rare for a team to get relegated with more than 50 points, I think this season that may happen again, I think luckily we have enough in the bank to keep us up. We will pick up another 3/4 wins and finish anywhere from 15th to 10th.
