Only 2 goals conceded in first half this season

And none in the last 11 games. What happens at half time? The opposition tweak tactics, we cannot cope.

We’ve won 5 and lost 6 of those.

Wins versus Forest and Cardiff (on terrible runs resulting in the managers being sacked), a late scramble against a side with the worst defensive away record in the league plus a victory versus a side with one win all season only kept off the bottom by Derby. Oh, and a decent 25 minutes against Sheffield United.

We haven’t won against a team above us in the league.

Disjointed, no pattern of play, players regressing. Warnock slating some players publically, then not others. Now he wants “English” players in the window.

Wonder who he’ll throw under the bus tonight. Jones, Sporar, plus blaming the fans for Daniels replacing Lumley?

Get him out of the club. Now.

I'm fairly sure we're virtually top of the table if it's based on just the first half.

I genuinely don't understand what keeps happening at half time.

We should be better than 14th with the players we have. There aren't many other than those with parachute payments who would be bringing in Sporar, Payero and Siliki, who won't have joined us because they like a parmo. If we don't look like play off contenders at Christmas Warnock and his merry men will sling their hooks.....who comes in is anyone's guess, but am thinking we need a coach rather than a traditional manager.....we have been tactically naive or behind the curve since Karanka left.

3rd place

Which suggests to me that other managers are sussing us out and tweaking their tactics at half time and Warnock can't/won't make tweaks or subs to counter them?

Or we are just nowhere fit enough, or exhausted from chasing shadows as we never have any sustained possession to have a breather?

Despite having no midfield of sorts last night Luton in the second half found midfield an easy place to raid. Howson and Crooks had no legs. Hernandez was a waste of a player

Probably a bit of both, but I think your second paragraph is the real reason. It's more tiring out of possession than if you've got the ball, and we spend more time than most running around trying to get the ball back. That has to have an impact and fatigued players will always make silly mistakes.

Do you know what side we are going to put out? I certainly don’t, so I doubt the opposition know either.

If we've won the game before, he always seems to play the same team with no regard for tactical nuances against a different team. It never works.

I did read the other day that there were only 6 (I think) teams who haven't conceded in the first 15 minutes of a game, we were one of them (Liverpool were another fwiw).

We always seem to run out of ideas. We should have been two or three up by half time last night given the possession and the pressure. But we don't score another and all of a sudden we stop doing what we were doing and sagging back to our goal, and then making daft mistakes which end up costing the game. I think Warnock was right when he says we get bullied, but I don't know if that was a shot at the recruitment team for not getting him Carlton Palmer and Roy Keane.

Whatever, as was said last night we look miles off it. There's maybe three, four teams that are the class of the division. Some absolute rubbish, teams that have or will have points deducted, and in between there's a whole mess of teams who could finish anywhere from 5th to 20th. We *should* be in the first group, but we haven't looked close since we came down because it's been years of mis-management and poor recruitment. It's bad that you don't know who will win the clear struggle between Warnock and his coaching staff, and the football director. You would think it would be the latter, but if that's the case why not move on now?
