To be fair Jones has been poor all season, Carricks not daft, he has sussed Jones and McNair out and that's why they're both on the bench.

To think Jones was unplayable at times last year, and was at times our only spark in our team, it's unbelievable the change in him now, he has lost all confidence.

To be honest Mcnair probably didn’t even look bothered the moment Carrick came in, he has really been below average since the beginning of this season.

It's pretty hard to come in after not playing any football for ages and hit the ground running. McNair is one who needs a run in the side to get back to his best guys

I think McNair is only truly effective playing as a centre halve in a back 3. Can't see where he will fit into Carrick's system.

Well he's not first choice at the back and Mowatt seems ahead of him as cover in midfield. Wonder if he might be a possible exit this month? Hardly had any game time under Carrick

He's down the pecking order at the moment - but things can change quickly in football, so he may get his chance in the League at some stage.

There aren’t many teams in this league with a versatile experienced player like McNair to call on in their squad.
