Port Vale away

Up to 4,500 I believe.

Just been reading their forum and apparently the big issue which may affect how many tickets are available is "getting the toilets fixed."
Literally about half the posts were people worrying about the bogs and whether they'd be sorted in time!😂

Was just thinking about this.

Every time (or so it seems, very anecdotal) we have got promoted we’ve always done well in the cup.

Got me thinking about sponsors.

I remember it as the milk cup, rumbelows cup, Coca Cola cup but no more.

Not keen on googling.
Any more for any more?

Carling Cup and Worthington's Cup I believe too?🤔

I went in 1998 I think it was a Friday evening in late April - we were lucky to win 1-0.

Slightly strange location for a professional football club - a bit like Linthorpe Village, no obvious town centre, a mix of Edwardian housing, a few factories, some leafy streets, quite enclosed as its in a slight dip in the land (I expect where the name Vale comes from). Port probably comes from canal landings to pick up newly made pottery in the Victorian era.

I am not sure about the draw - if we get through its a great draw - if we don't we have missed the opportunity of a glamour match and the cash.

Another away draw - five on the trot!

Port Vale must be disappointed not to have got a top Premiership team away for a payday but getting us at home probably gives them the best chance to progress.

I think Merson scored for us?

We famously won the Carling Cup.

Worthington Cup and Capital One Cup are two others from the top of my head

Exciting draw though it is if Cardiff in 2008 taught us that you cant take anything for granted. They and their crowd will be massively fired up for the tie and they are better than Exeter.

Spoiler alert!
Haha changed.

Anybody else go to Port Vale in January 1976 when we played Stoke City. Their ground was damaged by wind so they played the game at Vale Park - we lost 1-0 and it was just before our second leg st Maine Road in the League Cup Semi
